Wow!

Tomorrow will be the completion of my first month as a Wealthy Affiliate Premium Member and wow, what a ride!

Have I enjoyed it? Am I getting somewhere with the training? Have I doubted myself? Am I still doubting myself? Yes, yes, yes and yes! But I am so glad I am here and I can assure you, I'm here for the long haul.

It's strange how as we learn new things we begin to notice definite character traits in ourselves that we both love and loathe.

As I work my way through the training it is clear that 'Content is KING'. And which part of the training is the most challenging for me? Of course, it's creating the content! However, I have noticed something quite irritating about my character. It isn't that I can't create content because when I apply myself I can pretty much waffle all day long. The issue here is the 'applying myself' part. I have realised that I am very easily distracted from the task in hand and that I subconsciously find a million excuses not to knuckle down and do what I am supposed to be doing. And it's annoying....................very annoying!

I have read a multitude of books and blogs on how to be successful and it always comes back to the same 2 main things, routine and focus. So my challenge to myself is to organise a daily routine, stick to that routine and focus on the task.

Other than that small hiccup the entire experience thus far has been fantastic. The community here is unbelievable and I continually find myself marveling at the willingness to help each other. Truly something very special and unique. So give yourselves a huge pat on the back (not enough to cause injury though)

Wish me luck, it's taken 55 years to get to this point. I'll let you know how it goes over the next few weeks and months.

Onward and upwards :)

Hey man,

Nice to read you post. I'm a few days in, still holding down a full time job and creating a healthy routine...which you and I know takes a great deal of EFFORT!

Change comes from within, and it's cool we're on the same rollercoaster!

What's your niche?

erik

Hi Erik,
Welcome aboard man, you're gonna love it here.
Yeah, still trying to nail down that elusive daily routine but I'll get there.
I started a woodworking niche so slowly trying to add content as I work through the training.
All the best with your online journey, I'm sure you'll do well.
Cheers,
Rab

Rab,
Happy WAnniversary! Happy WAnniversary!
Happy WAnniversary! H--A--P-------P-------Y
WAN--NI-------------------VER-----------SA----RY!

Well congrats are in order! Congratulations Rab, you are moving in the Right Direction >>>>>>>!!! Success!!
I pet sit /house sit/ plant water. I mention this because one of my "pets" is a miniature Australian Shepherd little dog named Mic.

When I need to focus on something, and distraction, probably a devil spirit, LOL, is trying to distract me from my higher outcome, I just picture Mic.

If you know anything about this breed, you'll get what I mean right away.

I'm an energy healer as well, so owners' of Mic were picking him up from the vet, and he is an older dog, but freaked out by driving in the truck, in luxury I might add!
So they took me with them to go and pick him up, and he's very bonded to me,for security, and I am bonded to him for the "how to be focused on point lesson", from an amazing little dog who loves me.
I just had the care of him recently for 3 weeks, and spoiled him with his food, my food, ice cream, belly rubs, gentle hair brushing.

And whenever the friend on the property, named Linda came over, she brought her little stinker of a dog, who she has let wrap her around his undisciplined self.

Anyways this inevitably causes boundary issues with Mic!

But Mic is 12 years old or so, and it's HIS house being invaded by "Bob" the little snot!
So, Mic points his body, and moves in for a prosecutory nip in the back of the neck!
Have you ever wonder how it is that dogs ALWAYS KNOW where they are going, and blissfully go there!?! Take a moment to consider that Rab. It's true!
They fully live 100% in the moment, because if you don't go on point for the moment, the next moment may not come!

The next moment is not guaranteed!

This is why I would find a book with 101 stories to be 101+ more ways to NOT FOCUS, and get lost in their story.
When I am trying,
or Rab is trying to find the essay on, The Why of My Story by Rab?

There you go. wished I could have put Mic's Pic in here for you. he Picture the little stubborn-persistent, SOME TIMES NOT UNDERSTOOD AND EXASPERATING, excellent wisdom, which is knowledge applied, applied, applied, echo, echo!
(both sides of the exact
SAME TRAIT!)

No Rab, you don't need an Egyptian god named luc. You need a Picture in your mind like Mic!

Woof Me Yow,
Suzay

Thanks Zay, love your story :)
I have 2 Rottweilers that are well trained (thankfully) and great together but I totally get what you mean about Bob, the not so well trained little snot :)
I'm getting there and every day is a new WA adventure so happy to keep on challenging myself.
Cheers,
Rab

I was editing / adding to your remark from me, when a call came in from a friend to pray for her and ask others to do likewise, as she was in the hospital with blocked kidney, and surgery this afternoon, so ...
All will be well. Or as the Shunamite woman said, It is well with my soul.
Thank you Rab.
Talk later, Zay!

Sorry to hear that Zay,
I hope your friend gets well soon.
Sending love and positive energy.
Rab

Self doubt is natural, it is also something that can be used as motivation. Do I doubt myself to this day? As strange as it sounds, yes.

I have been at this 18 years and the reality is I still don't know a lot about a lot of things. There are so many directions that you can head within the online world, and so many ways in which you can build a business. That is exciting, but that the "unknown" of what you don't know can create self doubt.

Embrace the learning experience and embrace the idea that you need to know a lot, about very little to be very successful online. Don't view this industry as ONE big idea, there are millions of ways that you can create a business online and come out on top!

Thanks Kyle, I'm enjoying the challenges and learning every day.
Just need to apply myself better so that I don't waste so much time.
Need to up my game to get to where I want to be.
Cheers,
Rab

That is the way to go, i am following you to see you succeed, best wishes on your success.

Thanks Leroy, looking forward to both of us doing amazing things.
Cheers,
Rab
