Hey I need to change my MX records so I can have my email work again. Clients can't reach me! Please help ASAP. Other wise I will have to cancel my wealthy affiliate account bec

Does any one know what MX record to use for WA hosted domains?

yamin4cws: I believe you are referring to Dreamweaver MX which allows you create a simple but well-designed website to NHTML standards. I know about it but I have not personally used it.

I know that the University of Bristol in the UK has created a practical workbook specifically devoted to using Dreamweaver MX in web design. You may want to take a look at it. www.bristol.ac.uk/is/learning/documentation. The training is promoted by the University fo Bristol Information Services. Wish I could help you more. DAN

Thanks @gooddogpokk2 - wow that's a long nick name :) all the best buddy.

yamin4cws: I use to have a dog so dumb that we got tired of telling him how dumb he was. So, everything he did we would say, "Good Dog Poky." It stuck, he died, and now I am #2. I hope the University of Bristol was able to help you. DAN

Good on you Mate lol you made me laugh - he you look after yourself and see you around.
Yamin :)

Right back at you my friend. DAN

Sooo what was the answer to this question. :-) I'm now in need of an answer. :-)

did you get it working?

Thanks Donna ya I think so.

good... there is always an answer somewhere lol

Hey ApachePine, did you manage to fix this issue?

I transferred my domain to Weathly affiliate now my email isn't working because the MX records don't match. I need to know where I can access and change my MX records inside of

If you want to use a 3rd party email service like I do for at least one of my domains...
I just want to add in here: there are multiple questions on this subject and even one conversation that mentions that Kyle indicated this was an option that was going to be offered soon. But it appears that hasn't happened.

ThomasPaul nailed it with his response (in this thread) that you just need to submit a support ticket to have them update your MX records to use a 3rd party email service.

I did exactly that and was very pleased with the quick response time to get this done. it took them only a few minutes once I provided them with all of the details.

best,
Kevin

You're not able to modify your own mx records. You will have to submit a ticket:

The only thing you can do yourself is set up an email account that I believe uses squirrel mail or setup a forwarder:

I think I sent my dns back to name cheap then reset the records and made the hosting point to WAhosting. So far seems like it is working. I'm not really sure on the vocabulary.

Are you saying that you have your domain pointed to Namecheap's nameservers and then using an "A" record to point to the IP address of WA's hosting? That's the only way I can see your domain and email working without using WA's nameserver's. You would have to be careful if doing this because if they changed the ip address of the server your website is on, your site would be inaccessible until you updated the A record.

If your domain has nameservers's of ns1.mywahosting.com and ns2.mywahosting.com then you would have to submit a support ticket to update the mx records in order to get your email to work with google apps, office365, zoho, etc.

A lot of DNS settings have a time to live(TTL) of 4 hours, so it can take some time for changes to propagate.
