What Happened to the Give and Take comment thread?
I think I need to point out first -
This is not a post about getting return comments or me needing comments.
No it's not missing - but something is not right.
Here is where we go to give and receive comments:

and the directions are as follows:
Nowhere in those steps does it say I will only give you a comment if you give me one.
Nowhere in there does it say I have to PM someone to let them know I have given a comment so you can return one to me. (LAZY)
Nowhere in there does it say I need to let you know I left a comment and leave my link so you can give me one back. (LAZY)
The concept - in case you didn't know - is called pay it forward.
The idea is, you leave three comments and then leave your link to receive comments.
If someone you comment for chooses to return a comment back to you, that's great, but it is not required.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. If that causes you to not leave me any comments, so be it. I will continue to follow the directions.

I have also had the comment "This is great!". Lets work on the quality as well. End with a question or something pertaining to the post.

Good point. Comments will drive traffic if done right. Leaving a comment such as "Good post" is not a good comment. Getting people to take the time to do it right will help everyone.

yes, that point has been covered often. If it is a new person, I don't mind sending a PM and explaining the difference between a good and bad comment but some who do it know better.

This has struck me as being really important.
I have to admit, I have been critiquing a few members sites in threads but not really left comments on pages or posts.
It's not out of willfulness, because I am quite happy to suggest when critiquing that people make sure they give visitors the proper opportunity to comment if there's nothing at the bottom of their pages as I realise how important it is, but more out of "I don't think I was fully aware of how the pay it forward concept really works".
Am I wrong, or is this perhaps another issue that could be better highlighted or have I missed it somewhere staring me in the face?? LOLs

Thanks for the reminder, I always leave 3 comments first, before I paste my website url, however, I do see the remarks of, when you leave a comment on mine, I will return the favor or they leave their url after they have left a comment again...and again.... and again...
lol exactly Loes. I do the same. And it is not that I mind returning a comment if someone asks, but the thing is - we all have lives and a business to build and run. We schedule time to come and leave comments then leave our link to get the same.
That's why I don't comment anymore until I receive comments on my blog and only then I return the favor.
Thank you for clarifying the points of the give and take comment thread. A lot of people do not seem to understand the concept. I was not aware that it has moved so thank you also for the new link.

It hasn't moved, I was just giving the link. It is in the same place it has always been. There is another thread where you can leave your link to receive feedback on your website is coming along. Many people confuse that with the comment thread.
I agree that a lot of people do not get the concept.
Sorry misread the bit about the link. Lol.
NeilC created a blog in Feb 2015 with links to all the areas in WA to get fed back. Are You Struggling For Comments On Your WordPress Blog? The best thing is to only request fed back on the appropriate links.

Yes, sometimes strange things happen. Previously I left few comments on websites. I was curious if somebody will write a comment back. From 4 people was one. Maybe it is not too bad, but why to ask for comments if you are not going to return favor?
Exactly, the idea is to leave comments on at least 3 sites that are listed. Unfortunately some people do not want to go to the trouble but expect comments on their own site.
