Stats Stats Stats

First thing I want to recognize is that I know at this point, I don't need to be caught up in stats. I also realize that most of my stats are coming from WA members who I have asked to review something I have written. Because of this I don't look at these things often but I do want to be familiar with these tools so I know what they mean when it will matter.

The first stat I see is my bounce rate which is 50%. Not surprising since most of my visitors are WA members. For those who don't know (I didn't), bounce rate measures the number of people who arrive at your site, then leave your site after viewing just one page (instead of going on to explore other pages on the site). This will be a helpful stat later because it will tell me if my content is engaging enough to make people want to stay and find out more.

Out of my 26 sessions, there were 20 users. Which means 76.9% were new users and 23.1% were returning users. Those 20 users viewed a total of 58 pages (or maybe they viewed a page more than once) between the 19th and the 21st of September.

AVERAGE PAGES

Average pages per session were 2.28 with average session duration lasting 4:15.

I guess that's not too bad, even with my readers being WA members.

I move on to Webmaster tools. I have no crawl errors, so that's cool.

Then I saw this. Before you think I'm some weirdo that I'm getting results off spank this, I wrote an article called Is it Okay to Spank. I now know what my position is. After 17 days, my average position is 120. Maybe I shouldn't be excited about 120 but I AM.

I won't bore you with the rest. I just got a little excited as I tend to do about any progress. :)
