Hey all,
I'm gearing up to promote my second website. WARNING: if you are a health nut, you may want to stop here! :)
My best friend and I are cigar and pipe aficionados.

I like it and I'm sure there are (still) many people interested in the topic. They just opened a shop near me with Hookas and such.

Good

I'm one of those health nuts, but I recognize people are gonna do what they want to do. Soooo.. I think your idea should attract other cigar and pipe aficionados.

I like the domain also, but then again, I am keen on the tailored and sophisticated style. If your intended target audience has an eye for the more luxurious and expensive things, then your domain name is great. But, if you want to attract just any smoker who doesn't care what brand so long as they get their fix, then you may want to reconsider the domain.

Hope this helps and God Bless! ~Cathy

Good points Cathy. The target is going to teach people about high end smoking, for low end cost. And to help people who are getting in to it so they learn the proper techniques. I'll consider. Thanks for your input!

I think it is a great idea, and the domain name is not to long at all, looking forward to seeing your progress

I really like the idea and the domain! Good Luck!

I've followed the lessons and done my due diligence. I selected a keyword that has a decent amount of traffic and only 30 competing pages according to the keyword tool. However,

Hi Jared, there are a few things you should take into consideration. 1. Did you sign up with the Google Webmaster Tools? 2. If you did step 1, did you submit your sitemap.xml file to Google that way? 3. Did you register with Bing Webmaster Tools? 4. Did you submit your sitemap.xml that way?

About page rank, I can only tell you that it takes time for Google and other search engines to find out just how "important" your website is to visitors. The indexing of pages usually happens within a day. Well, for Google that is. Bing and Yahoo seem to take a lot longer for that.

I think the more you share your website on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, the faster yahoo and Bing will index your pages. You can find out whether Google has indexed your pages and posts by typing the following sentence in the Google search bar:

"site:.com" (leave the quotes by the way)

I hope this has made any sense to you and if you need help with anything else, I'd be happy to help you :)

Good luck!

I had signed up with Google Webmaster. I thought I had submitted my sitemap, but when I just checked, it told me I hadn't. So it is now. I have not done Bing yet. I'll do it today.

Thank you for your help. Hopefully I'll be ranked soon.

You're welcome Jared. I mentioned Bing webmaster tools, because Yahoo and Bing have decided to team up and have all websites indexed in both of their search engines using one program. I read somewhere here at WA that it can take up to thirty days before Google starts to rank your site.

If you can find your content by searching for it (even if it's on page 7 or so) then you'll know that your pages are indexed by Google :)

Good luck!

You just saved me from researching if Yahoo has their own. Thank you. :)

You're welcome Jared :)

Hi Murie, I've seen people talking about a sitemap. Did I miss it in the trainings? I only went through lesson 3 on affiliate bootcamp because I decided to work on my niche first, but I am on Lesson 10 of phase 2. Haven't seen anything about a sitemap..........?

Hi there :) I'm not in the affiliate bootcamp course, so I'm not sure about that. Kyle does talk about that in a video. You can search for that by using the search bar. The sitemap.xml file makes it easier for search engines to index your page, without you having to submit your urls separately.
