Eecstatic to finish the foundation-building phase I'm moving on to creating content. This is proving to be the hardest part for me. I'm not afraid of writing emails, letters, notes etc. but creating content for my site is another matter. Every time I sit down to start writing I stall. I realize there are dishes that need washing, plants need watering, the floors haven't been mopped in a week. Now, upon reflection, (another form of procrastination) I think it comes down to good old-fashioned stage-fright. I am afraid to put my self out there publicly! I have no cyber-creds! Of course, if I don't start writing I wont ever have it. But hey, I do I really have anything to say that hasn't already been said a thousand times before, and better, by others online. I'm not a true expert in anything. Does that make me a phony?What do you do to avoid or stop this type of mental block?

You can still make a difference. You are an expert at something. This is what I learned after reading "The Millionaire Messenger" by Brendon Burchard.
I will read it a again a few more times and make notes. I believe this book can encourage you to just start with what knowledge you have in any subject.
Their are three types of experts: 1 The Expert 2 The Reporter 3 The Role Model.
You can start by being a reporter and then eventually an Expert.
The book is available at Amazon. I hope this advice helps.
Just go with the flow, I start writing and just let keep coming.
Then sit back and see what I've written. It could be absolute dribble and go straight to the bin.
It may be half decent and need work, but its a start.
If it makes you feel like its only you, I ditched all of my Wordpress blog once because I woke up one morning and thought that's c**p.
Just do it.

Anny, great question- I think one that most if not all of us beginners deal with. Thanks for your bravery in making this public because you will not only he;p yourself with the responses, but many many others as well.
I think for those of us beginning, and even as we continue, we need to learn to just go for it as if writing an email or posting to Facebook. And we must not be afraid to let it bomb if it does- that is how we gain experience and improve. If an article you (or I,or anyone else) writes bombs, critique it, and learn from it. Here at WA you know you have lots of help from folks who want to see you succeed!!
Thank you for this. You're right. Just let it bomb and learn from it. It wouldn't be the end of the world but the beginnings of better content.
I think this is a great question and I'm in the same boat (being very new to this whole affiliate marketing thing) so thanks for asking it. You've had some great replies so far and I'm sure you'll get more. For me personally, it comes down to what's my "why?" Why am I taking steps to improve my financial situation? Why would I sacrifice my time to focus on learning a new skill like this? Why am I leaving my comfort zone? The answer for me is my family - that is my why - my three daughters. I was told a while back that if my "why" was big enough it would help to overcome the hesitancy, the self-doubt, the second guessing, the mental blocks, and just get down to getting it done. I believe my "why" is big enough and will help to motivate and push me through these same types of struggles.

Hi DavidJacobs, I had a couple people asking me this. I jotted down some initial thoughts on the subject in my blog. This is a family adventure. We don't plan on staying forever, just a couple of years. I lived in Mexico when I was a kid and I wanted my kids to have the same kind of experience and also to learn Spanish. I think being able to speak Spanish is increasingly important in our world. Especially in the USA. Unfortunately, most language programs are nowhere near adequate for teaching this important skill. Thank you for your interest. Are you planning an adventure?
