Does Wealthy Affiliate work?

This is a question that we have all asked I’m sure. Are we following the right advice, or are we wasting our time? Today I wanted to do a bit of a progress update for you and I wanted to address a couple of questions that I have seen being asked around the Wealthy Affiliate community. As a newcomer to the Wealthy Affiliate membership it is really hard to tell the difference between the training and support that we have all experienced here and other online training memberships that are available on the net. At the end of the day, most of the people that come looking into the training at Wealthy Affiliate want to know if it’s possible to make money online, start an online business or build a successful website. But does Wealthy Affiliate really work?

Here is my progress so far…

I have only been with Wealthy Affiliate for a few months now and like many people I didn’t really know what to expect. Unlike a lot of other sites that claim to offer similar benefits to WA, the Wealthy Affiliate membership and training courses are really under-hyped, which is unusual when you take a look at the alternatives. I have been involved with affiliate marketing and building websites for quite a few years now as many of you will be aware, so I wasn’t exactly coming into Wealthy Affiliate blindly. What really impressed me was the fact that as soon as I joined the free membership here, I was immediately welcomed by several members and also by Kyle, one of the co-founders. Thinking that this could just be an automated response, I sent a message to Kyle thanking him for his welcome and very quickly got a reply. This was a good start but I still had doubts as I’m sure many people do at that stage, so I began looking at the free training.

It’s fair to say that over the years I have become quite obsessed with certain aspects of internet marketing (ask my wife!) and as I have been around this scene for quite a while, I know the difference between what’s good and what isn’t. Within the internet marketing world there is a lot of outdated and totally useless information that leads newcomers completely down the wrong path. I could immediately tell that even the free beginners training here at Wealthy Affiliate was right up to date and of exceptional quality. Even though this training was free, it set out the foundations that every successful internet business requires in order to achieve success.

Seeing the value of what was on offer within WA, I quickly made the decision that I was going to make this my project for the next 12 months. I joined the premium membership as I wanted to get access to everything that Wealthy Affiliate had to offer. As I had already had quite a bit of experience within affiliate marketing and building WordPress websites I made a conscious decision that I would go through every part of the training here in detail, because as I know all too well, it’s impossible to know everything and the online world is constantly changing. I think one of the best things about the training within WA is the additional training submitted by the other members. This has helped me several times, if only to give me a different slant on things.

Like many people that I have since come across here at Wealthy Affiliate, it took me quite some time to decide on the domain name that I would use for my project. Because I have been involved with internet marketing for a while, the decision on choosing a niche was pretty easy. However, my first stumbling block was that the training here at Wealthy Affiliate suggested choosing only a dot com, dot net or dot org domain name for our sites. If any of you have seen my website you will know that after some research, I didn’t go with any of those suggestions! I wanted a very specific domain name and since I definitely could not have the dot com domain, I had to do some additional research. Believe it or not, the planning stage and decision to use a “dot Zone” domain took me over a week! However, I think like a lot of things in life it’s important to get the basics right first. I have made the mistake in the past of buying domain names that I thought might be ok for a project that I have been working on, but then later regretting the decision. I have spoken with a least 3 or 4 people here at Wealthy Affiliate that have done the same thing. So don’t feel bad if that’s you too, lots of us have done it!

Once I had made some basic plans and I had settled on the domain that I was going to use, I was then able to focus on the Wealthy Affiliate training. Although I had done a lot of this stuff before, I wanted to follow everything in the same way that a newcomer would and not skip over anything. Since it was clear that the training within Wealthy Affiliate was very much updated, I wanted to be certain that I was using as many of the suggestions given to me within the tutorials so that I could eventually start to hopefully show that this stuff really works within my website niche and that there really is hope for anyone looking to make money online.

So, does Wealthy Affiliate work? I’m pleased to say that although I have not gone through all of the training within Wealthy Affiliate yet and probably will never get through it all, yes I am definitely starting to see some real results. I have religiously stuck to the training within WA and have followed it very carefully. Although it is very much early days still for my website, I am getting an increasing amount of organic traffic, directly from the search engines and my search positions are getting better all the time.

One thing that I kept hearing within the internet marketing scene before joining Wealthy Affiliate was that quality content was the way forward for 2015 / 2016. Now although this is very true, there weren’t many sites that could actually say what Google was looking for in terms of quality content. I believe that Wealthy Affiliate does an excellent job of training us how to create the sort of content that Google is looking for and I’m sure that this is a major contributing factor to our success.

A lot of the methods that I learned before I joined Wealthy Affiliate involved a lot of “off-site” promotional work and these methods are still being taught elsewhere in many cases. Here at WA, the focus is mainly on the content within our websites and in comparison, results are much easier to achieve.

So what about some results from my site?

The first post on www.MakeMoneyOnline.Zone was published on October 1st 2015. The site is 4 months old. So far I have published 41 posts and received 638 comments to those posts in total. Over the last month there has been a significant rise in organic search traffic and natural (non spam) comments. The site has had over 5100 visits so far and again, the organic search engine traffic is increasing slowly as I gain more trust with Google and Bing. My highest search position for a keyword is currently No.8 in the search results, but these results have fluctuated quite a lot. In general, most of the pages that I have produced are increasing slowly in the search results.

Moving on…

I have a lot of work to do yet on this site, but I just wanted to share the fact that since the second month of following the training here, there has been a constant growth in traffic from the search engines. This natural traffic does take time to build, I know this from previous experience. But for anyone out there that was in any doubt as to whether the training here really worked, I can tell you that yes it does.

The Wealthy Affiliate training is not a quick answer to making tons of money online. This is a long term business that has made many success stories. The great thing about WA, is the fact that you can actually contact those people that are successful and ask them their opinion, as I have done several times. I hope that as I progress over the following months that I can be added to that list.
