If you want them to appear there then you have to edit them yourself first in the editor. Auto-population is not enough. But this is not essential. Google changes them in many cases.
You can check if your texts are indexed and ranked:
site:http://yourdomain.com

I think you have to do that neither through the add media tab in the edit posts window..or.. add it as a widget. i'm not 100% sure but you can try those and see. if I figure this out then I will let you know.

No, in Google type your domain name in the place of yourdomain.com.
