About AlohaMelani

It's my Anniversary here on WA! Things have changed a lot since Black Friday 2016 when I first joined. Here's my November 2020 Update:

I somehow became an Influencer around the Summer of 2019 by way of Instagram and my alohamelani.com blog, which is the FIRST personal work I've ever done online (everything else I've ever done online was business and B2B work). This is so different for me because I'm usually very private about myself and my family. There's a sad and scary story behind it, unfortunately. I'm a pretty outgoing person, so until now I've not really had a chance to be myself.

I now get paid by brands to post on Instagram. I was invited to and just signed my contract to be a freelance contributor on an app called News Break. I just wrote my first article yesterday, which discusses my personal path and how I accidentally became an Influencer:

I love the benefits of being on Wealthy Affiliate, and although I just recently put up a banner on my website, I have always used this platform for learning, giving and receiving comments, and the fantastic hosting. I never really became a big affiliate marketer, but being able to build sites here has surely helped me evolve into who I am today.

I hope to learn more here and look forward to learning more about the new changes that just took place in WA recently.

Please feel free to connect with me. Nothing makes me happier than spreading Aloha!

It's April 2019, over 2 years here on WA and I now realize that my profile needs updating after writing this blog post: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/alohamelani/blog/for-my-son

In a nutshell, I've created a few web pages, but never really became the blogger I thought I would be after joining WA. However, I am now helping my son with his YouTube site by helping him maintain a blog, nelsazon.com.

So, now I need WA again! I'm relearning everything and I'm so glad I maintained my membership! The web hosting and support has been phenomenal, so the membership, even without using the training on an ongoing basis has been well worth it.

OLD Post from when I first started at Wealthy Affiliate in November 2016:

I joined Wealthy Affiliate because I want to diversify my online earnings.

I looked into Affiliate Marketing back in 2008, however I never went forward with it as I was busy running someone else's IT company. I quit my job as an IT Channel Director/Project Manager at a Cloud computing company in the first quarter of 2015 when my online sales business that I started on the side in 2013 took off.

Since I'm a "one woman show" it is very difficult to make millions in online sales without hiring a crew. I've had the flexibility of working from home for over 8 years, so I can't imagine going into an office every day to manage employees at this time. Another stream of income online will have to be the way to 7 figures for me.

I grew up in Hawaii, but live in Florida. I love dancing, traveling, comedy shows and bumming at the beach. I have a hubby and 2 kids. I am brutally honest, so I come across as harsh at times, but I'm a pretty nice person. :)

Great goals, Aloha! In time, you'll want to increase the amount of hours you're working per week to achieve goals this ambitious, but for now that amount of work is a great start! I hope that doesn't put you off, but as someone that's brutally honest, I'd imagine you'd like to know up front. The sky is the limit in this industry, so your goals are more than achievable with a lot of hard work and building on the training here.

Hello Melani,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.
Success building your business in 2016-2017. See you around, Greetings Loes

Melani,

Welcome aboard to the Wealthy Affiliate membership level. I believe someone with your business background will be able to take the information provided here and lunch a very success online business or in your case increase your current business.

I believe there are a number of articles and members that your can reach out to in regards to scaling your business.

In your current business, have you considered the use of Virtual Assistants (VA's) to scale your business? Here are a few articles I found on using VA's Nice meeting you here on WA.

Hi Keith!

Yes I "thought" about using VA's in the past, but I never executed a plan of action. I appreciate your suggestion as it is a great reminder that I need to get my process documented so I can train a helper. Thank you for these awesome links!

I'm so glad I followed you!

It looks like you're moving along very nicely, Aloha! I see you have your profile all setup and hopefully you've been engaging with the community a bit!

I keep a pretty good pulse of my referrals here, especially the ones that are working hard to help themselves (and so do the co-founders of Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson), so if you're willing to work hard here, I'm happy to help support you every way that I can!

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Hi Ian! I'm getting used to the community and hope to get through most of the material before Thanksgiving. I joined based on the recommendation in your free lessons. I found you when I was looking up Anik Singal as he has a "turnkey" inbox blueprint email marketing program that I was skeptical about. It includes training, free content creators, niche analyzers, email templates, list building training, traffic training and support. I am interested in all of those things, but I do like the price of WA much better! Please lead me in the direction of any comparable items that I mentioned if they are available here at WA.

Your're right. I have a few niche's in mind, however I'm also unsure if I should just develop and monetize my websites for my online sales business to start.

Also, since I do own my own domains, what is the best way to move forward? I want to have several websites with different niche's. Should I create a brand new website with a new niche so I can learn from it?

Thank you for reaching out. I'm already starting to see the value in Wealthy Affiliate and look forward to setting up this new stream of income!

Hey Aloha! Well there's a mixed bag of answers here.

You're going to find the training here at WA to be A LOT more legitimate than what Anik puts out. He promises overnight success and quick money in a lot of his sales presentations, as well as a dream of making passive income. Nobody's income in this industry started off passive - it starts off with a lot of busting your behind until you can get to the point of handing it off to a team and making it passive. And nothing happens overnight in this industry.

The downside to that is... WA is pretty basic overall. Totally legitimate and a clear path to success if you follow the training (albeit a very long one; much longer than it has to be), but they don't teach a lot of the advanced strategies you may find in more expensive courses. So long story short: The path taught here at WA is very different than what Anik *claims* to teach, but it's much more legitimate overall.

To answer your question about domains/websites - yes, you'd likely want a new domain for each niche site. There are very rare exceptions to this, but in almost every case you'll want a new domain for each niche.

I hope that helps!
