It feels like I've been through a wrestling match
Wow! I have finally finished Course 3 of the training. I have wrestled mightily to work through these past 10 lessons.
When I got to the lessons about adding affiliate links I did not have enough content on my site, so I spent a couple weeks researching and adding a few new posts. Then I started pursuing a number of affiliate programs. Almost every sport-related affiliate program belonged to a network, which meant I had a hard time finding an independent affiliate program. I finally was accepted into the programs and finished a few more affiliate-link-related posts.
Then came Amazon. It wasn't hard, just another hurdle, so I got that one done too.
What's next? Adsense! That one was a particular struggle for me. First, I needed to understand what in the world it was. I honestly did not know. I was confused by what I read about it so was hesitant to move forward. I researched and read information on the internet, looked at a number of previous discussions in the WA archive, and finally got some help from a friend here in WA.
Then, when I added the Easy Adsense plugin, I somehow managed to get Adsense ads sprinkled in 3 places on my posts, not at all what I wanted. I finally got that straightened out, learning about "custom fields" along the way.
Now I am finally through this wrestling match and ready to move on to Course 4. I am really looking forward to gaining stronger knowledge about social media sites and how to use them to advantage in this business.
So, I end this post with another wonderful Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, “Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.”

Ugh I have been putting this course off for lack of motivation to enter into a wrestling match. I;m so tired of struggle. Why can't anything we have to do for survival be fun. Ugh.
That's a tough question, Brenda. I certainly haven't found much of life to be easy. Whenever it became easy, I found myself bored. So, it's like the quote I posted. We have to keep moving beyond what we already know to keep growing - and personally, I enjoy growing!
Wrestling isn't always fun, though. You can do it!
Eh - I;m very happy when it;s easy! I haven't been bored since I bought a house 23 years ago! I'm happiest fixing up the house, I'm most unhappy trapped in front of a screen. I was just born in the wrong era or something, I loathe learning anything technology related. Don;t mean to complain, just sayin. Thanks for the positive reply though!
Some of the roads are well paved and others are still gravel. Some are even snow-covered and icy! Have fun learning, Rochelle.
Great update, Allyn. I'm in a Bootcamp course that is not so easy for me either. You conquered it!
I'm anxious for Courses 4, 5, and 6. There is so much ahead of us. Keep driving Freddie.
I know what you mean. I despise social media so that is going to be a hard one for me. I really have no interest in other peoples lives and I certainly don't want them in mine.
I haven't totally avoided social media, just kept it down to FB and some LinkedIn in the past. There is a lot of good information one can get through social sites. Now we just have to think of social as an extension of doing business in today's world.
Thanks for posting this Allyn. I am just starting Course 3 and it looks like I may be in for some head scratching fun.
LOL! If you didn't know this stuff before joining WA, I expect you will scratch your head a bit. The good thing is that there is plenty of information available to us to help us learn. You can also ask any question you want to ask here in WA.
I'm glad it was an encouragement, Nicole. Most of us get stuck once in a while. We just have to keep learning and pushing forward.

Very inspiring! I've got a ways to go to catch up to what you've accomplished.
You'll get to this point before too long. If you have to wrestle a bit to get there, just remember that you are growing. Enjoy!
