Inspiration from Walt Disney

I just returned yesterday from a wonderful family vacation at Disney World in Florida. If you have ever been there, or to any Disney park, you know the kind of excellence that Disney builds into all their projects. Most everything is extremely appealing visually and is always high quality.

We had a grand vacation! It included my two children, their spouses, and my four grandchildren, along with me and my wife. It was a first-time plane flight for our 3-year-old grandson, so he was excited about that part of the trip before we even got to Disney.

The two older boys, ages 8 and 6, went on the big roller coasters (including Space Mountain in the dark) for the first time. More high-level excitement!

Not to be outdone, our 1-year-old granddaughter was amazed by the lights and all the moving and singing characters on the kid's rides.

Getting to my point ...

On our last day, this past Tuesday, we visited Animal Kingdom, the least attended of the four parks at Disney World.

We found that a few of the folks were just hanging around, enjoying the day ...

Actually, I took this picture just after these three had been swinging all over, voicing loudly their desire for breakfast.

There was quite a bit of construction going on at Animal Kingdom. What caught my attention were the numerous Walt Disney quotes hung on the walls surrounding new project areas.

They were all great quote material for a business like ours.

So, allow me to get back into the swing of things by sharing the following quote from Walt. Maybe this is most appropriate for those who have just joined but we can all understand and agree with what he has said:

Keep building!

Disney sure did that too. He had nothing at one point except a vision and he made it happen.

And it's a place that everyone of every age can love!

Sounds like a. Great was had :)
Nice quote.

Thanks Papi.

I just got back from Disneyland half hour ago and honestly, that guy was a genius! He created an entire fantasy world that we can escape to when life gets tough ;)

But on Friday, I was at Venice Beach and bought a piece of wood that was burned with a Walt Disney quote - "If you can dream it, you can do it."

And it's true!

Yup! That was another great quote that I took a picture of when I was walking around DisneyWorld. I used to live in SoCal, so I've been to Disneyland many times. Hadn't been to DisneyWorld for 25 years. Thanks.

What a great family holiday. Not everyone is aware that Walt Disney cashed in on the public domain. Many of his animated feature films were adapted from stories which no longer had copyrights attached. We can all take a leaf out of his book. ~Marion

Good point!

What a wonderful family adventure! Walt Disney has been a hero of mine since I was quite young! I cherish that they told him it couldn't be done and nobody would visit this park he planned to build and he ignored them and followed his dream! The rest is history! :)

Now the question is "did you go on any of the big roller coasters?" Many year the family I worked for were showing quarter horses at the Pacific National Exibition in Vancouver. There 8 year old daughter got bored so took me on the roller coaster 7 times in a row. After that I have never gone on one! I remember the saying about Disney (in BC) was "you go to Disney land the first time for the kids; the second time the kids are an excuse to go; and the third time forget the kids!"

Good question, Helen. We went on every one we could! Space Mountain is still my favorite since it's totally in the dark. I've been on the Disneyland Space Mountain numerous times but the one at DisneyWorld is oriented a little differently, so it was a new experience, especially with the 8 and 6 year old trailing behind me (I was in the front car).

There is an interesting one called Everest at Animal Kingdom. You go up and around and up some more, then it stops, waits, and then goes backwards for about 30 seconds (in the dark), finally going forward for the last long drop and twist around the end of the course. Kids couldn't go on that one.

A couple years ago, when living in southern California, I went to Disneyland with my daughter and son-in-law. They had a special luncheon, so I went off by myself and took the fastest, biggest coaster there about 6 or 7 times in a row. I decided I should stop at that point.

Honestly, the biggest coasters at Disney aren't as wicked as some at Seven Flags parks or other them parks. I've gotten to an age where I do avoid some of the worst ones - wouldn't want a heart attack to occur coming down one of those but I still enjoy coasters with loops.

Unfortunately, due to heart issues in the past, my wife can't go on any of them.

Glad you had a family vacation and enjoyed your family time together. That's the most important part of life. Love is what it's all about. Thank you for sharing this post with us.

I bet you had a great time and love the quote all the best

like that quote. Thanks
