I Got Scam Looking For A Developer "douurtybv"
I never got scam before, I guess there is always a first time. I was looking for a developer to fix an API code to my website and I could not find anyone close by willing to do it. I usually don't choose the first website on the first page, however, I was tired after three attempt to find someone close by. So I went back online and I did choose the first one there which is https://www.freelancer.com.au this site offers developer that bid for your project. I received 8 bids and mostly were from India, Bangladesh only two from US. The US were to expensive around $300-400 while the Bangladesh & India between $140 to $277.
Well I never done this before so I went for the cheaper one in Bangladesh while thinking that if it doesn't work I am not losing a lot of money. Well that theory is good at least I haven't lost a lot of money. I just hope only AU$64 paid through Western Union. The other money that I have paid "$141.34" was http://www.freelancer.com.au which I should be able to get them back through PayPal.
This is their website http://www.zepess.com The name given to me was Sangram Adhikari and Kisa stay away from them.

Hi there,if you go to www. elance.com there is whole community of freelancers to do all Sorts of online work. However there are many checks in place to make sure nobody gets ripped off. The freelancers are from all over the world but to be approved to operate through the site there is a rigorous process of authentication etc. well worth a look. Cheers Cate

HaHa I have learned that too late. And I am still looking for a developer however, I am more cautious now.
Are you sure you need a developer to get the problem fixed? Which API code is it and what is the issue? ~Jude
It is an API key to allow my members to upload their videos to my webpage. I have Vimeo Pro and they told me to get an API developer to put this code on my website. Well I don't know what else I can do. It is something similar to YouTube that allow members to upload their video.

I have Vimeo Pro too but only use it to upload videos to my own website.
Your best bet would be to catch Kyle or Carson in the chat. I've seen Kyle in there some days between 4.00 and 6.00 pm Aussie time. You might want to keep a lookout by watching the Chat scroll bar to the right of your screen. I believe WA uses Vimeo to host the video tutorials, so either Kyle or Carson can probably give you guidance.

Thank you. I got rid off Vimeo Pro and PayPal said that I have a refund from Vimeo today.
I wasn't happy with Vimeo support and the Vimeo video that I had on my site wasn't working it was stopping all the time. The BeeTube theme developer also had checked my Vimeo embedded and he told me not to use private to my website but it still wasn't working. In the end, why pay so much for something that doesn't work?
I think I am going to check Vzaar.com they host videos and nothing else I am not a competition to them. I just have to see first if they can help to fit the API on my website for myself and my members.

Thank you. i don't know for sure, if they use an Identification system in Bangladesh when they pick up the Western Union money the name that he used was Sangram Adhikari. Now I am going to be extra careful when dealing with people online.
Sorry to hear of your scam but very thankful for the post to warn others to be careful. Its a timely reminder that not all is as it seems in the internet world and we always need to be vigilant to ensure we do not fall into the traps.
I think we need a website where everyone can report how they have been scam and the name of them. In this way, anyone looking to do a business with the scammer will know by having a pop up window warning them. My scammer was under the name of "douurtybv"
That would be a good idea it might in fact deter some of them from even attempting to scam - well we live in hope :)
Sorry to hear about this and unless you are paying through a reputable company that offers outsourcing/freelancing (fiverr.com, guru.com, freelancer.com, or elance.com).
You should also be using an escrow with your projects, this is FAR more secure than using payment types like western union. As a rule of thumb you should not EVER use western union for payments online, it wrecks of a scam.
Thank for the tips. I was using freelancer.com.au. What is the difference? They have similar name just the .au for Australia. I don't think that they are the problem, it is more the developers which are not following the rules of the company http://www.freelancer.com.au.
What sort of fix did you need done? Can you tell us what API it is that's giving you trouble?
I am trying to have videos upload through my website by subscribers. I have bought Vimeo Pro which will host my videos. Now I need an API developer to put a code on my webpage. This is what Vimeo gave to me:

Well my website is still in working progress one videos is not playing because it is in Vimeo Private for the moment. The other three are on YouTube.

Unfortunately, it looks like I need to have a vimeo account to log into their developers' section.
One thing that I did pick up on -- You should open a WA support ticket to confirm that WA's servers allow using "Oauth 2" for authentication. That's a requirement for using vimeo but I have no idea if that's permitted on WA servers.
I have asked Kyle and he said that I need to find a developer to insert the code to my webpage.
Yes, there are people that you can never trust. And when they want money before they start a job it should ring a bell. You should never give them anything until the job is done. And in my case I should have found a web developer close by and not in Bangladesh. That was a bad idea.

Well I was looking for an API developer here at WA but I didn't find any one with that knowledge.
It is an API code needed to upload videos through my site. When you use Vimeo Pro it allows you to have videos hosted to Vimeo and uploaded on my site. People can see these videos only on my site.
