Hello, my name is Ashley. I live in beautiful Arizona, attended the U of A and went on to complete almost all six semesters of my law school degree. My motto used to be "Work hard, play harder!" During the highly stressful time of final exams, I was beaten by the man I was dating. Thinking I was strong enough to get through all of this on my own, my life spiraled out of control. I went from being at the top of my graduating class to on the streets homeless, addicted to drugs. During my 3L year I was a legal intern defending clients in court, and within a year I found myself in the courtroom again, this time handcuffed and ashamed. As a result, I have a great resume and a criminal record.
It has taken me a few years to get my life back together, and I have learned so much about myself and others and what it means to be in recovery. It is a lifestyle change; one that I am hoping I can develop a niche out of for others like me. I have found it difficult to overcome my criminal record when applying for jobs; even jobs I am overqualified for. Therefore, I am hoping this type of business provides an avenue I can support myself with.
My dream is to write a book someday to help people understand how drugs affect everyone; even those you wouldn't expect. I hope starting a blog will show me if I am capable of building a following who may be interested in my story, either as a cautionary tale or relatable story.
I have finally set up my social media sites to promote the site! Follow me and I will return the favor!
