How to Stay Motivated as an Affiliate (Hint: It is about the affiliation)
My Tips to Avoid Burnout
Introduction
As a full-time remote worker, my days are spent glued to my computer, juggling Zoom meetings and tasks that often exceed 40 hours a week. On top of that, I'm also organizing my application to the Arizona Bar because I passed the bar exam a few months ago! Woohoo!
After such long hours, the last thing I want is to spend even more time online for my side gig—an affiliate marketing site dedicated to resin art. Yet, one simple habit has dramatically impacted my success:
MAKING TIME TO CREATE MY OWN RESIN ART.
In other words, the best habit I have implemented in this journey is “walking the talk.”
Crafting as My Escape
Crafting has become my escape from the monotony of the digital world. Mixing colors and pouring resin offers much-needed stress relief and rejuvenation. After staring at spreadsheets and meeting notes, engaging my hands in something creative allows my mind to reset. This hands-on experience also sparks fresh ideas for content on my affiliate site, turning my crafting sessions into rich sources of blog topics.
Discovering Content Gold
Whether I’m trying out new pouring techniques or sharing my delightful mistakes, I find endless possibilities for engaging content. My audience appreciates authenticity, so showcasing both the triumphs and trials of my resin art projects resonates deeply with them.
The Power of Experimentation
Experimentation is key in resin art. Each new technique, from glow-in-the-dark pigments to embedding delicate flowers, allows me to offer authentic product recommendations. By sharing genuine experiences, I build trust with my audience, ensuring they know I’m promoting items I’ve truly tested. This authenticity not only boosts my credibility but also creates a loyal community around my content.
A Dual-Purpose Approach
While crafting has become my creative outlet, I do have a second habit that can be applied in various ways for different types of affiliate marketers.
In my professional life, I am also an AI and LLM content trainer. I am tasked with creating prompts and responses that outperform current AI models. When I can, I REPURPOSE THIS CONTENT FOR MY BLOG, effectively killing two birds with one stone. This tactic allows me to conduct research for my affiliate site while getting paid. Don’t worry; it’s all legal and ethical. I own any content I create that is used to train the models.
Repurposing in Action
Even if you don’t have a job that allows such research, repurposing content can still be an invaluable tool. For instance, I create short videos for my Instagram page and repurpose them for TikTok, Pinterest (occasionally), Facebook, YouTube shorts, Tumblr, Reddit, Amazon Live, and usually a post on my blog. This multipurpose strategy not only saves time but also boosts my reach across various platforms.
Expanding My Content Strategy
Initially, I posted a version of this post on the weekly challenge post and said, Why not expand this into a WA blog post? So here you go, me sticking to my word. For those familiar with my story, you already know that, in many ways, resin art has saved my life (see my bio for more info, although I haven't updated it recently, so it is a bit dated, but you’ll get the gist).
The Joy of Flexibility
Long story short, if you are blogging about golf, what better excuse do you have for taking the afternoon to play the back nine tomorrow? I mean, travel bloggers have this skill on lock, and it works for them. Why shouldn’t the rest of us embrace this flexibility?
Conclusion
So, as I balance the demands of my remote job and my passion for resin art, I’ve discovered that integrating my hobbies into my work-life not only fosters creativity but also enriches my affiliate marketing journey.

Yes, yes, yes. Stay immersed in your niche, it is a constant learning experience and when you are constantly educating yourself with your niche, helping your audience, and working hard, you are naturally going to put forth more effort (and be more skilled in your niche).
Love this post.
PS. Congrats on passing the bar!
