What's New ? A New Direction

(Side note...) I love this image!.

In the image above, is the little guy shouting, or singing to his heart's content?

Sometimes, for me, it's both.

I've been here at WA for four and a half years, now. And all this time, I've been doing this all wrong.

(Gasps from the crowd!!)

When I first came here, it was because I wanted to learn how to monetize the websites i already had. I've learned HOW to do so, I just haven't DONE so very well. (That's a long story...not quite 'Partha' long, but long, nonetheless...grin).

It wasn't until I chose to run a new client's website through the HUBS, that I realized my efforts were not providing me with good results FOR ME!

For everybody, else, yeah...

Oh, I'm really good at finding the solution for a problem or cultivating ideas for a new project, or helping other find the answer they were looking for. Research something? I'm all in.

Some of you know what I mean because I've helped you by coming up ideas you can use to succeed in your online businesses.

Yet, for some reason I cannot, for the life of me, understand why i am not doing the same thing for me...

Yeah, I know, the carpenter's house need work, so does the mechanic's car...lol. Do for others but not for ourselves...I get it...

Oh yeah, back to the new client's website.

The two articles I wrote had indexed within two days after the website went live!

I have my original website I created here, with only 76 posts, and NONE indexed!

That's when I decided something had to change. So, I dumped all of those posts, and that domain will not be renewed.

Instead, I went in a different direction, and started a new website to promote WA directly. Only a few days in the making.

It's funny how little seeds along the way are dropped in our paths, maybe even start to grow, and even more surprising when you look back to see where that all began.

What I read, the little seed started me off into a new direction that I had been ignoring for one reason or another. But I was finally willing to listen and hear the message.

This created a new perception that I'm now exploring, on a more personal level, mind you, and has infiltrated other things in my life.

What that brings me to here, is this. A revelation of sorts...

I was reading the other day, and the article was talking about the movers and shakers in the world. Specifically, the question asked was, Are you a Starter, or a Finisher?

Then it dawned on me...

I am a Starter...

I can find the answer or solution to almost anything in this world, (I said Almost...).

And all of the puzzle pieces started to fit.

For some of you out there, with ADD/ADHD, specifically, or anyone else who always wondered about themselves, do you remember how it felt to finally know WHY you felt the way you did about yourself?

That sense of relief that there IS something going on, and has now been realized?

That's how I felt about OWNING my role in this life...

That I am a starter, I don't have the propensity to finish many things because once created, I lose interest...

And I'm okay with that. However, that kind of puts me into a bind if I need to finish something, and I'm working on how to do that. Haha, not finish, lol, to find a collaborator who will join me to work on projects!

I just posted a new Fiverr gig, and I wonder if that is something i can post in the 'get feedback' post here, or can we only post our website url. If anyone know, shout it out!

For those of you who have a lot of interests, think about what makes you the happiest. Which part of creating gets you going everyday?

That's when you will know what to do next.

Now, I know there is a lot of judgment (odd that there is no 'e' after the G, English grammar) about not finishing, or not starting something.

Let it go.

It is okay to be a starter or a finisher...or even a 'maintainer (that's my other talent, maintaining status quo...) With collaboration, we can all succeed, when we are willing to recognize that we need help with something, whether that be a one time thing, or a regular way of life.

So, that's my story for the day.

If you have any questions you can always contact me privately through messaging, and of course, your comments here are welcomed!

Peace Out!

Nice post Rudy, but 76 posts on website and NONE have been indexed??

I've had quite a lot de-indexed in last couple of months, but I have made a few tweaks here and there, requested indexing again and got that number down from about 66 to around 12 I believe... (This is a new site I started just before Christmas and only has about 175 posts on it).

Certainly hear you about being a starter though my friend...

This year I fully intend to follow through on more things before starting something new!!

Take care buddy! :-)

I know, right!? I can bulk index them, and still, nothing! So, bu-bye!

Im really good at starting websites, lol, maintaining them too, once finished.

I do finish, just not my style.

However, by recognizjng and accepting this new starter cincept, I am less stressed about what I do, and have turned that into a new venture.

So its all good!

Thanks, bud..

Rudy

What do you mean by 'bulk index them' Rudy??

Surely a man with your talents and skills uses GSC to request indexing though... and still nada??

You and I both know that a website is never finished, and is an ongoing work in progress!!

New ventures are fantastic though my friend and when we feel less stressed about doing them.....

All the better!!

How is the pool season shaping up for you and your team buddy???

👍👍

The bulk load for indexing us a feature on RankMath. Its convenient, in my case..

Otherwise, I'm back to writing my own stuff using Ai as assistance, for outline, topic generation etc.

Because so much has shifted, Im going through everything and deleting unnecessary websites that serve me no purpose at this time.

Pool? Thanks for asking ...As captain of a team, I get to participate in a team captain tournament.

There were four of us, unknown to one another, and we won the tourney, undefeated!

For winning, we will head to Las Vegas in August for a national team captain tournament!

Woo hoo, can you say road trip!!?

I plan to stop by on the way back to visit my dad and two sisters who live in southern California.

Rudy

Never used RankMath Rudy, so that clears that up!

Sounds like a solid plan!

Now that is fantastic news about the pool, road trip to Vegas it is for you!

Enjoy yourself there buddy and all the very best for the tournament!!

👍👍

Thanks, bud, appreciate it.

This is a huge event, where about 300+ Team Captain teams will participate.

Damn!! That is a huge event!!

I fully expect you to return home with a trophy though Rudy!! :-)

Me too! And some tournament money!

Aug is the big month where every year, winners play in team events, in both 8ball, and 9ball.

Just this May, (last week) singles and doubles played in 8ball and 9ball. Check YouTube for APA world championship 2024 to watch their final matches!

In Oct, Im set to play in the regionals tourney for both 8 and 9ball. Winners go to Las Vegas next May.

Its been fun, the past four years, playing pool.

I wonder if the APA would consider starting a seniors league for those over 55! We could fill the teams!!

Later ,

Got to go save my billiards domain from expiring.

Rudy

Bring home that scratch my friend!!

I forget that 8 or 9 ball is the norm for you on the other side of the pond, huge pockets!!

Back in the UK it's 15 ball with slightly different rules and MUCH smaller pockets!!

I will definitely check out that channel for the finals, but it seems way tooo easy to me!!

I always loved to play a few frames of snooker before hitting the pool table... one couldn't miss!!

Save that domain buddy and catch up again soon ok!! :-))

Yeah, I also play 10 ball, in a different league BCA.

I remember a kid in junior high had a smaller table, A Bumper pool table. That was an experience!

Rudy

At the end of the day Rudy, it's all about putting the balls in the holes faster than our opponents can do...

Love the bumper pool table... back when growing up I had a slate based 1/3 sized snooker table to play with...

My pup at the time absolutely loved jumping up on the table to "assist" me!!

🤣🤣

Better that than a cat...lol.

Yep,all about putting the ball into the holes. One miss could make the difference in winning or losing.

Case scenario, I broke, nothing pocketed, my opponent runs the table, but doesn't have a shot on the 8 so he call safety, or defense.

My turn. I ran the table and pocketed the 8. Won the game.

A long time ago, a fellow player told me its not the shot you make, its the knes you miss. Keep your missed down to 1 or 2 in agame and you will most likely win.

I think I saved the domain...

Later, bud!

Rudy

We had about nine cats back then, but none of them showed any interest in the table when we were playing... my pup on the other hand would take each and every opportunity possible to jump onto it!!

I definitely agree that it is the shots we miss more than the ones we pot which wins the game...

I will let you into a little secret here that has always stood firm for me......

Don't miss!!!

Great news on saving the domain buddy, you never know how important that could be in the future!!

Later my friend!! :-))

I completely understand being a starter. I've started several websites that haven't gone far, or even nowhere at all. I've dumped a few, but I've also kept a few that I feel may have potential down the road.

I've recently discovered my passion and I'm putting most all my effort into it right now. In fact I've always known my passion, I just never created a website around it. Of course my WooCommerce store will be there as I've put a lot of money and effort into that sight, and it does bring in money. Diversity is a good thing though when it comes to income streams, so nothing wrong with putting effort into more than one website. Maintaining is a constant though, so I don't believe I'll ever be a finisher when it comes to my websites.

I've always felt I needed a mentor, yet I've never thought of a collaborator. Both could provide great benefit. I know that you've helped me quite a bit in the past, and I'm hoping your offer still stands for future help (I will be taking control of the non-profit website I discussed with you earlier).

I'm sure you'll be hearing from me. 🙂

How exciting ! One of my first web design gigs was for a non-profit.

Of course, if you need anything, let me know.

What passion are you now choosing to follow?

Rudy

My love of animals is the direction I'm headed with my most recent site. I haven't done anything to monetize the site yet, I'm simply researching and writing right now.

The words come easy when it's a passion. I never realized how much I know about animals until I read some of the things on the internet that pet owners are completely oblivious to.

I know I'll be needing help with the non-profit site when I take over; it's been butchered. It's a small organization and I know they can't afford professional help, so I hope I can get it back up running as it should for them.

Thank you 😊

Sounds great! On all fronts..

Knowing your passion...awesome!

I'm not sure which one yet, for me...lol.

Rudy

That reminds me of me - I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, lol.

Me either...lol

Great post Rudy and I enjoyed reading it and the thread it's created. I'm a great starter in many areas and to keep something going (like a business) I have to team up with someone who's better than me at maintaining and finishing.
Thanks for your help and good luck moving forward.

Rick

Thanks Rick. It sounds like you have found skmeone ro colla borate with on occassion. That's my next step is finding someone to partner with, so together we can do so much more together!

Rudy

Good morning Rudy,

It's good to hear from you.

Thank you for your interesting blog post; it's great that you have been able to help others; that has to be good! I hope it's your turn now!

I think most people suffer with the mechanics car type syndrome, it's just one of those things.

I'm not quite sure why none of your 76 posts were not indexed, I would have thought that would be almost impossible.

I wish you every success with your new website.

Have a fantastic day.

Roy

Thanks, Roy. Yeah, I was surprised that none had indexed, and some were 2 yrs old, and not really affected by the manic Google changes...

All is coming around. We shall great changes soon!

Rudy

It's a pleasure, Rudy, I'm pleased that things are moving forward.

That's amazing after two years that those posts were not indexed. It appears that the Google updates have affected many people. I'm wondering if part of these updates are due to all the content that has been flooding the Internet all of a sudden due to AI.

Roy

Hey Rudy,

Thank you. I enjoyed reading this. I'm glad to hear you're pushing ahead on your new website. Way to go! I wish you the very best in your new adventure of promoting WA, great decision. I know you'll be successful!!

I'm not sure where I'm going...

Take care!
Monic

Thanks, Monica!

You will figure it out!

Have faith!

Rudy
