Mapping Out Your Future....With Canva.

This is something I have been planning to do for quite some time. I am of the opinion that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Focus my Thoughts.

Putting this together focuses me on all my businesses across the board.

And because of the shift of focus for me early next year, I need to have a firm idea of my whole business structure. For example what I am promoting in each area of my overall set-up and how it ties in with each website.

Business Planning.

In the past, I have put together business plans along with Profit and Loss projections with all the bells and whistles that were regarded as normal.

Here is something, outlined by A.I , that was considered standard business practice when talking about business planning. Remember that you needed to do one of these if you wished at any stage to borrow money for your business for expansion purposes.

I have done too many of these that I would like to remember.

The Basic Business Plan. (As explained by A.I)

If you're thinking of starting a business, you might have heard of traditional business plans. These are detailed documents that outline your business idea, market analysis, financial projections, and more. But what are the main points covered with traditional business plans? Here are some of the most common ones:

- Executive summary: This is a brief overview of your business, its goals, and why it will succeed. It should capture the attention of potential investors or lenders and make them want to read more.

- Business description: This is where you describe your business in more detail, including its legal structure, location, history, and mission statement. You should also explain what problem your business solves and what makes it unique from competitors.

- Market analysis: This is where you show that you have done your research on the industry, the market, and the customers you want to serve. You should include data on the size, trends, and growth potential of your market, as well as your target market segment, customer profile, and competitive analysis.

- Marketing and sales plan: This is where you outline how you will attract and retain customers, as well as how you will sell your products or services. You should include your marketing strategy, sales channels, pricing, promotion, and distribution methods.

- Financial plan: This is where you provide the numbers that back up your business idea. You should include your income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and break-even analysis. You should also include your funding needs and sources, as well as any assumptions or risks that might affect your financial projections.

- Appendix: This is where you attach any additional documents that support your business plan, such as resumes, licenses, permits, contracts, or references.

These would quite often run in excess of 100 pages with accompanying graphs, swot analysis and the sweat of sleepless nights stained on the pages.

If you have never done one, you can thank your lucky stars. The one good thing about doing this was you knew your business inside out by the end of this exercise and knew exactly what you wanted to achieve.

Mind Maps.

These make it so much easier to get a firm grip on your business. What you have, what products you want to sell on each site, and how you are going to promote your website and its services, products and information.

I have just started and will be breaking down each website with target markets, how to approach those markets and the products, services and general info I will be delivering to each.

The Finished Product.

The finished product will not be something that covers 100 pieces of paper and needs a degree in Social Engineering to understand.

What it will provide is a great overview of where my business is at and where I want to take it.

Eventually, I will be able to use it as a tool to break my total business into departments that can be run by others. (That is the plan, anyway). I will modify it as and when needed.

Don't Settle for Second Best.

Yes, it is ambitious, but why settle for second best? If we settled for second best none of us would be here at Wealthy Affiliate.

The best affiliate platform with 18-plus years in the Affiliate marketplace and a 4.2 star ranking by Trust Pilot.

Trust Pilot is a popular platform for online reviews, with over 120 million reviews from millions of consumers worldwide. They help you find the best companies for your needs and also lets you share your own experiences with others.

And they use a point system to compare one company to another. The star rating goes from 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.

A 4.2-star rating means that the company has a very good reputation. And that is what we have.

Ambitious indeed Steveoi, but why shoot for the moon when we can reach the stars!!

I'm all for planning ahead my friend, without a decent plan in place we end up like drunk headless chickens!

Get your rest in buddy and enjoy the weekend!!

Great post, Stephen!

I worked for a Japanese company for many years (Epson) and the Japanese managers were very big on mind mapping. And asking WHY, five times.
This post brought back some fond memories.

Compelling post, Stevoi! Sadly, I have never had much luck with Canva though! Might have to visit it again!
