Oh! How the mighty have fallen?
One of the big reasons I joined Wealthy Affiliate and every other affiliate program I joined was to become my own boss. Why do I say this?
Well, about 3 years ago I thought I was in line for a promotion and as you might have guessed I missed out for unknown reasons. It was a kick in the guts for me as I was pretty confident.
I'm a pretty hard worker, have great people skills, knowledgeable and motivated - and I knew I had a great interview.
I was never really told the honest truth. Everyone I work with knew I deserved it but none of us could understand how I wasn't picked for the promotion. It came as a hefty shock to my peers. but such is life.
What didn't become clear to me until about a year ago was I missed out because the boss above my boss had a personal grudge against me and basically the buck stopped with him. He didn't like people who challenged his authority and me being who I am - challenged him! Not once, not twice, but multiple times. The thing was I was challenging him about various things relevant to our work environment that other people were too scared to ask. And of course, he didn't like what I said.
Now my line of work involves being able to work in team and when the team is having problems everyone suffers. My boss and supervisors new this, but they were too gutless and and just a bunch of butt kissers so they never wanted to try to sort our problems out with the big boss. Lame right?
Anyway, the only reason I found out the truth as to why I had previously missed out on the promotion was because the big boss was moving on and he was being replaced. One of my supervisors told me why I missed out - guess out of not having to worry about the consequences of telling me.
So, we did get a new boss and he is a real nice guy who actually listens to what people say and tries to get problems solved. I must say the working environment has improved considerably since and the workers seem more enthusiastic and engaged about work.
What is really funny about this whole situation is about a week ago I was told the big boss who didn't like me went to his new so called promotion and tried to run people into the ground the same way he did with us. Well, two days ago, my supervisor told me he was put on garden leave(suspension) pending an investigation. Apparently he was being investigated for fraudently activity embezzling funds from the company. So, I guess he's gonna get what he deserves? karmas a bitch!!!
Anyway, I'm still in the position I've been doing for the last 9 years and i really don't mind but I would like to someday become my own boss. What I've found with Wealthy Affiliate is the motivation and hope that someday I will become my own boss. I have no doubt in my mind!

I was booted out of a volunteer position at the local dog pound on a trumped up 'violation of the Code of Conduct' charge. Basically, management got sick of me telling them how to run their pound. I cannot stand incompetence, stupid policies, filthy conditions, lack of care and the unnecessary killing of animals when their time is up but there is plenty of kennel space - like you, I could not stand idly by and say nothing.
Okieeeeeeeee dokieeeeeeeeeeeee you know it !!! It is always the way of it, The reason he was that way --he was covering up !!!! hope the best for you !!!
If you have faith that someday you will be your own boss, then Zac, you will. I'm a firm believer in the law of attraction, aka Karma. So it is is best, as much as possible, to send out positivity. That can be kindness, helpfulness, giving a challenge your best and winning by not giving up, etc. Everyone eventually reaps what tthey sow.. "Plant" well. :)
