First video in English - Totally out of my comfort zone!
A week ago I made a huge step in my online endeavor.
I made my own video for the very first time in English.
I had made a few videos in the past in my language (Japanese) but never even dreamt making one in English. Before joining Wealthy Affiliate, this was something that I would NEVER try to do in any circumstances.
Creating a video in English had been the biggest fear for me. So naturally, in the Affiliate Bootcamp, I was stuck in this lesson where Kyle instructs us to create our own videos.
I was like, "OH NO... I can never go beyond this point!"https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wa-affili...
I think I was stuck there for a month (or even more?)
Funny though, because as many of you know I am a teacher, and I speak in front of a bunch of college students every single day. Although the subject I teach is Japanese language, most part of the lecture is in English and I am so used to doing it that I don't get nervous whatsoever.
But recording my own video in English was a completely different story. The thought horrified me. I did not want to do it.
After putting it off for a great while, last week I finally gathered the courage and attempted recording a very simple "unboxing" video for my new website PurePinkSalt.com.
It's not even 4 min and it took me almost the entire Sunday to complete this project!
During the editing process, I had to ask my poor husband (who is a native speaker of English) to watch it and ask over and over again:
"Do you understand what I am saying? Do you really?"
He patiently kept telling me "YES" (He had to, right?)
And by the evening of Sunday, my very first video in English was uploaded to YouTube! WooHoo!!
I know it's not a great one but at least it's a start.
I am actually quite satisfied with the accomplishment. :)
WA has totally pulled me out of my comfort zone. Now that I created one video, I feel I can keep doing this and get better little by little, just like I did with writing blog posts in English.
I know you are all busy, but if you could go to YouTube, search under Yuko Stalter or "Unboxing Sherpa Pink Himalayan Salt" and give me some feedback, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all, Have a nice week!
Yuko

Thank you Arthur! I hope you could understand what I was saying ok?
The salt is great. I've been using the salt for both Japanese and non-Japanese cooking and it works wonderfully. It's well worth a try :)
