Facebook Blueprint Training Module 8 - Using Messenger with Pages

Well .. what can I say .. this was a real "eye opener" module in using Messenger in conjunction with FaceBook Pages. "We" have actually already implement some of this on our Facebook Page but only because my wife knew about this area more than I did. I am lucky she is so amazing.

Using Messenger from your Page allows for a way to easily and privately connect with your customers or respond and cover questions on your products, customer service, whatever. Using messenger also means you can be more responsive to customers

Facebook says: "More than 1 billion messages are sent between people and Pages on Messenger each month." Just think about that .. if you ever questioned whether a Facebook Page was of use for your business or not then my thinking is that a billion messages are screaming "YES"

The module then goes through optimising Messenger settings for Pages but unfortunately it uses a dated version. I have put it on my list to do a quick training on this in the near future.

It is best if you create a strategy including your own "standard procedures" for how you will handle messages.

Responsiveness is important. Facebook scores you and awards you (yes you can get another "badge"). If 90% of your messages are responded to within fifteen minutes, you'll earn a “Very Responsive to messages” badge.

You can also automate some of the initial messaging or replies, even if it is a standard one that thanks them and say you will get back to them by a certain time. As a note, usually our Page has the 90% responsiveness badge although we have not been using automatic responses .. and sometimes we fail at that.

Part of your strategy should be to look for trends, for example common questions. Then you can create standard replies and so automate your activities as much as possible and increase your responsiveness.

This could have turned into thousands of words covering multiple aspects of Messenger and Pages rather than a summary. I will cover the details on other blogs or trainings.

Cheers, William.

Thanks William for the info.
cheers,
william

No problem, William. Cheers.

Good information even though I don't have FB yet.

I believe it is worth getting asap .. just to play around with. Cheers, William.

Only joined FB yesterday but looks like messenger much like email?

Great progress George with FB. FB Messenger is an interesting beast. It is a bit like email or more like a phone app such as Whatsapp (Or Viber or LINE). And I guess you could say Whatsapp is like an advanced version of SMS. Except FB Messenger operates with Facebook accounts not phone numbers. You can also use it for text, pics, and voice or video calls with other FB members. It is part of the browser version of FB and on Mobiles it is available as part of Facebook's suite of apps.

Cheers, William.

OK, thank you, William, more than I thought on my first look, so I could use it as an alternative to Skype for video calls?

Yes George you can use it instead of Skype .. actually I don't use Skype much and more. For me FB is a more integrated and also a more stable platform. I am sure there will be others that will have a different view. I think Skype allows more people to be connected in a call. Cheers, William.

Thank you, William, my better half is in Israel at the moment where communication is not the best at any time and we have a 10 second delay on Skype which is frustrating! There is a sandstorm going on for the last three days so that is not helping also.

LOL ok .. try FB messenger calls instead .. good luck!

Will do, once the sandstorm is over, I heard it did actually rain today which is not good as all the sand dust then sets like concrete over everything!

I use messenger for my personal FB but probably should add it for my business page too. Hadn't thought about that.
Erica

Worth implementing Erica .. Cheers, William.

Messenger is indeed another very useful tool and it's automation features are definitely a plus. Thanks for sharing William.

Once again, useful information. I'm haven't progress in my training to use a lot of what you share but l'm filing it all away. Thanks. Debbie

Great Debbie .. Facebook has taken considerable time for me to understand. So just do one step at a time and Facebook is mostly likely not an urgent step for you anyway. Cheers, William.

Outstanding! you keep out-doing yourself, William!

Thank so much Arthur! Your comments are very empowering for me. Cheers, William.
