Hey Deborah,
I would recommend keeping things system and just pick a simple clean theme. Ultimately your content is what's going to cause people to read your content and make you money. It's not necessarily a fancy theme. Keep in mind some of the most successful sites have a clean simple design, (Google, Craigslist, etc)
And ultimately you don't want to spend a lot of time fiddling with things that aren't as important like your content. I discuss this here: Are you distracted by the wrong things? So keep those things in mind.
Yes, I agree. There are just so many to chose from and it's not always aparent how "simple" to use they are until you're in there and have wasted valuable time. I work two jobs already and don't have internet access at home atm so my online time is currently limited.
Just pick one that looks nice and simple. Try to avoid making so many minor adjustments once you do pick a theme. Focus on your content. That's the most important thing.
Agreed. That is my goal but i dontt find out how simple or complicated they are until i get in there and try to do something with them. It's a huge time waster. I can't be bothered with fiddling around unnecessarily like you said. That's why i was asking for afvice for specific themes that will facilitate this. I got a few good recommendations. Thanks
It depends a lot on what you want to do with your website. For everyone it's different. I suggest you try different themes and see if it's better for you. You can always go back to what you have right now.
I found this very helpful tutorial by Kyle when I had no clue about themes.

I am not very good at working with many of the themes here. One that I have that seems super simple and I can actually navigate is the one called "Hiero". It is at the very beginning of the themes and I think it is very simple. Try it and let me know what you think? Good Luck
Hi, I think from "Twenty Ten" to "Twenty Sixteen" you can use any of them. They are really easy to handle and maintain. Please let me know if you need a hand on it. I would love to help.
Thanks
Sam
I did the same thing, and just had to change my theme because of a simple thing that just would not work on it. I couldn't create drop down menus. Even with an additional plug in, it just wouldn't work.
So, I went to the simple, easy to use "Twenty Sixteen".. I still had to tweek it a bit, but, it gives me the function I was missing.. :)

Hi Deborah, I use the Omega theme. Simplicity at its best and it is also mobile friendly. I love it and have never had any issues with it. Blessings beautiful one. Heather :-)
