My first three weeks...

No, these were not the first three weeks of my life.

It relates to the first three weeks of my second life!

That is the most suitable word for the feeling I got more and more during this three first weeks in the WA community.

May be this sounds a little bit exaggerated to you, but I could not find a description wich better represents my present state.

It feels good to me! To understand this good feeling I have to tell you something about my life.

Till now I have had the idee, that all what I did was a preparation for a life yet to come.

All the studies and courses and so on I followed where in my experience preparatory.

From childhood till today I have been insecure and had a deep inner feeling of failing.Next to it I was shy and introvert. I could hide this well for the outside world and in my profession (more than 40 year pastor , of which 17 years in a mental hospital).

Why I tell this? Because this is the background of my good feeling about a second life.

Most introvert people I know -including myself ;))- have a rich inner life. But because they are shy and insecure, they share not all what lives within themselves.

I wrote it down and so I have thousands of pages in diaries, excerpts from books and so on.

I now have a good feeling about this second live. It has to do with the expactation that I will be able to share something: via eBooks , content on websites and so on.

So I see websites as a medium to share some of my experiences.

The longing for using the computer for this I have already had some years. But yet all the trials to create a websites failed till now.

The problem I have is that I have a 'helicopter view' and have difficulties with details.

Details become soon annoying to me. My wife calls me a grown-up ADHD :).

But in this first three weeks I got so much help, that I could do some steps in the direction of creating a website. As I can learn it, everybody can!

So, the first thing I learned was that I can learn here mto publish at the internet. Too that I am here at the right place and in the right community to start a second live.

This is not the only thing I learned. The second thing I learned has to do with my first contact with Wealthy Affiliate.

I tought about taking part in the Empower Network. Via Google I tried to get information about EN. I read a critical article about EN (written by Kyle). That was so convincing to me that I did not take part in EN. I read about Wealthy Affiliate and my intuition “told”: this is a good community.

I got the free membership. The first time I visited the website, I got suspicious and -because of negative expieriences in te past- I decided not to start. I could not believe that this could be true.! That was July 16th, 2013!

If I had better read what I could do whit a free membership and what I got thus, so I could have overcome my mistrust. Nowhere in the internetbusiness you get so much for free.

Now,after three weeks, I learned, that there is a lot more than I could imagine.

What I got is more than one to one coaching. Day and night -because there are members in different time-zones- I can get help. There are lessons, videotraining and so on.

To all the starters: If you had to pay for what you get here for free in a week, I think it would have a price of 2000 dollar or more. Take alone the one to one coaching 24/7.

I made the big mistake to not believe it. If I had started at july 16th , 2013, I would earn now much more money than a year contribution of WA!

So the second thing I learned was that WA gives me much more than I could believe and is in this respect unique.

Another thing I learned is that I should have listenend to the advice to do first the lessons.

I have done other things. Learn to know many possibilities in the WA community.. Each day I discovered new things. Of course I did also the lessons but not as many as should have been.

If I had followed up the advice to put first things first, I would have been further with may website.

So the third thing I learned is that it would have been much better to have listened to the advice of the experts than to do my own thing.

My enthousiasm was also more than visable to my spouse. Because of the time-zone I spended much time behind my lap top, till deep in the little hours of the night.

At a given moment she said to me WArner, you aremarried to me and not to WA.

And she is right of course! I love WA, but that is a different kind of love.

So the fourth thing I learned is to better manage my time; ( to avoid a crisis in my marriage.;))

To learn to manage my time, I use the book “Time Management for unmanageable people” (Ann McGee-Cooper).

A magnificent book for all the people who have problems with the most management methods.

people with a dominant Right brain.

Last but not least I learned from Pooh to live in the here and now:

“What day is it?” asked Pooh

“It's today”, squeaked Piglet

“My favorite day”, said Pooh

Warner it's great to hear that you have learned so much and you're having such a good experience. Thanks for sharing. :) Beverley

I have excpierenced it as a kind of breakthrough. I write much more easy than two days ago. Thanks to this impressive community!

Warner, most of my time through the years has been spent within "the establishment or medical community" where defenses are well in place and needed. Kyle and Carson have created a community here where people feel genuinely cared for and are nurtured and feel safe. As a result we see the real beauty of people when they feel safe enough to be open and vulnerable. Thus, not only the willingness to help each other but also the desire to be of help to people because we care for for and about them. Best wishes.
Harold

I aggree with you for more than hundred percent!

Warner, the really nice (and valuable) thing about your writing is that the "real you" comes through clearly with no facade. Your presence here will be a real asset to all of us as you figure out the best ways to enable your skills and knowledge to benefit others through the use of the search engines.
Harold

Thanks a lot! You describe better than I be able to do, the till now hidden meaning of my "second" life. I have the strong feeling, that it is not by chance that we all meet each other here. Do you know the theory of Jung about synchronism and about his vision about the collective subconsciousness? It declares scientificly this kind of meetings. But with or without declarations it is very beautifull and I am ensured it enriches your and mine and all our Lifes.

Warner, you have no idea what kindred spirits we are. Thanks for verbalizing all that I feel.

This is my favorite day too reading your post Warner

Beautiful and meaningful post Warner. Introspection can be so beneficial but is not for the faint of heart. Probably requires a bit of age and seasoning. We can all benefit from your wisdom and insight.

Thank you for your nice words! They are very encouraging for me at this moment in my live and touch in me a deep chord . Vulnerabilty is very human but not very popular nowedays. In groups I have experiencened -more than once- that it can change the whole atmosphere. When masks are falling down , you meet the real people. To meet real people is much more interesting and mutual enriching. I am very concerned about the future of our society, because there is much more interest in the "masks" than in the "hearts" of people. I think you will -with your background- agree with me, that it is also very unhealthy.
Again: thank you! Becauce of your nice words, you helped me -more than you will know- to overcome some doubts I had!
This communty is a wunderfull communty in every respect!

I love a kitchen timer, electornic kind, easy set and keep it at my elbow on the keyboard. Makes it easy to not get swamped in minutae. Glad you are here, btw.

I will try to use the kitchen timer! I forget often the time....

Great Post, Warner43! Yes, Warner43, today can easily be the favorite day for all of us here. Take Care, my friend!

This is great! I couldn't agree with you more about the great things WA offers.

Thank you for the Pooh quote. I love it! And I will 'spread' it.

And yes, it's very easy to get sidetracked here because there is just so much information, and it's easy to spend too much time in front of the computer. But being aware of this is the first step towards managing it.
