Famous quotes for success - 3

Famous quotes for success 3. Success and happiness are achievable. One of the greatest Geniuses of success and happiness is Richard Bandler. He has made a science of success.

3. “I don’t try to fix what’s broken, what I try to do is replace it.”

Quote Richard Bandler

Felicity bought her car from a local garage that her mother had used. It seemed the safe, sensible thing to do. When the car would not start, she called them. After a few hours they said she would need some new parts and it would take 3 days.

Felicity called Dick and moaned about her car and how every time she needed some work done, it always took several days. The garage owner was very polite and helpful.

Dick asked her why she did not use a different garage. She had always used that garage.

Dick asked her if she had explained to the mechanic that she really needed her car.

“Not really, but they were very nice and helpful.”

The car broke down often but her garage was so helpful at getting this one fixed, she did not want to take a chance of a new car..

When Dick called the garage to see how long it would take, they explained that they had recommended Felicity buy another car since this one seemed to repeatedly have similar faults. They had offered her a good deal because she had bought the car from them, originally.

She had always refused.

Felicity had done the same thing again and again and got the same results. She needed to change her approach, change her car and maybe change the garage.

I certainly agree that if something isn't broken, do not try to fix it. I hate seeing people changing things even when they are going ok. Xx

yes you right...thank you

Absolutely!
Thanks :-)

Thank You John.

I agree change the approach if needed. But the car and the
garage, may be?

Thanks Barbara. There are two parallel parts to this: The car and Felicity. One is a metaphor for the other.

Thanks Peony...I really like the stories along with the quotes.
Moral of the story... You can't continue to do the same things over and over and expect different results.

Thanks George. Spot on.

Sometimes people are afraid to embrace change even though it may be for the better. Thanks Peony.
Jerome

Thanks Jerome. Yes- people seem frightened of change as though they will lose something precious. I think, maybe, if people saw change as something added rather than something taken away?

Thanks for sharing, Peony!

Thanks Rebecca

There is danger in "cheaping out" by piecemeal repair instead of replace!

Thanks Mike. Yes. It can be difficult to let go of old habits or old £good ideas," when they no longer work.

Yes, ALL of us here possibly trying to change this garage and car

Thanks Aneta. In this rapidly changing world we often need new solutions.

Felicity certainly did need to change her approach. That is a very good lesson to be learned.

Thanks so much Peony for the valuable reminder :)

Thanks Valerie. In this business we cannot afford to forget to change our approach when things go a bit wrong. There is always a way.
