PPC Click Fraud Explained (Is it Really an Issue?)
Click fraud in the realm of PPC mainly happens when a competitor clicks on your ads to get you to pay more money. Or perhaps you get clicks from fake people/users, thereby causing you to lose money from your PPC budget.
In my experience, the odds of that happening are very low to begin with and in most cases what people really have to "worry" about is setting up ads that actually get high quality clicks from actual audiences they can sell to. The problem is most people attract the broader audiences and thereby waste their money in the process and that I would argue is a much bigger issue than click fraud could ever be, so as long as you focus on getting high quality visitors and pay as little as possible for your clicks, you will minimize the odds of any of that happening. Hi Vitaly, the only problem I have had with too many clicks was when I didn't match keywords with search intent or relevance.
Yep that's the elephant in the room that's the true issue, not click fraud. The key is to focus on relevancy and being super targeted. The ppc course I made here teaches that.
My bad experiences with PPC was allowing mobile traffic. And I think you may have taught this in one of your sessions, but it eats up your budget almost instaneously. So that's like my number 1. I also compare the clicks that the platform is showing vs what my click tracker is showing.
That's a perfect point; I believe I also watched that vlog where they mentioned it.

Yeah in most cases you'll want to avoid using mobile traffic Robert. I have a video here on how to turn off ads on that. It'll save you a lot.

Good morning Vitaliy,
I have often wondered about click fraud and if people really click on their competitor's ads. I think the majority of people who are in business are probably too busy to have the time to do such things, but I may be wrong.
If I carry out a Google search, I always avoid clicking on the sponsored ads. I normally scroll down to find the natural search. I guess this is due to the fact that I don't want people clicking on my ads unnecessarily, as I know it costs money.
Have a great weekend.
