Here's the reply to your question from ChatGpt:

Hey there! Great question—and you're definitely not alone in wanting to keep things simple and streamlined, especially when you're using landing page software outside of WA.

Here’s the deal: Yes, you can create a domain and use the email inbox service from Wealthy Affiliate without building out a full website. As a Premium or Premium Plus+ member, you're already paying for domain hosting and email as part of your plan, so there’s no extra cost to create a domain-based email (like you@yourdomain.com). That’s a huge win for credibility and branding!

Here's how it works:
You purchase or connect a domain through WA.

You technically do have to create a site in Site Manager to enable the email service, but it doesn’t need to be built out or published.

The website can remain empty or even private. It still counts against your site limit (yes), but it doesn’t need to take up any real time or energy unless you want it to.

Once the domain is active, you can set up your inbox(es) and forwarders in SiteEmail.

So think of the website more like a “container” that unlocks other tools, like branded email. You don’t have to use it for content or traffic—it’s just there so the system knows what to connect the email to.

As for the “mail-only” service idea—it's niche but growing.
There is a market for custom email domains without full websites (think solopreneurs, coaches, or digital biz owners who just need pro branding). Services like Google Workspace, Zoho Mail, and ProtonMail already offer this—but since WA already includes it with hosting, you're getting more for your money here.

My take?
If you're a WA member, go ahead and set up the domain and create the site—it won’t hurt anything. Just leave it empty or put a “coming soon” page up if you ever decide to use it. That way, you’ve got your custom email ready to go without extra hassle or cost.

thx... yeah this is probably what I'll have to do thx. just have an empty site laying around while I use email.

You mentioned you can create a landing page right? That landing page has to go somewhere. Place it on a domain and now you have a one page website with domain email 👍🏼💯

5

thx... I got that, but I don't want to spend additional $$$ to get a mailbox when it's something I have here that I could leverage! I will point my DNS to the landing page, but what should I do with the website I have here? just leave it untouched and don't worry about it?

1

Domain email is included with your website. I don’t get what you mean by the extra $$$. You mentioned you can create landing pages with ease, so create one and place it on one of your domains here, it acts as a one page website and you’ll have your domain and domain email all here for nothing extra.

2

I manage my domains elsewhere and have no use for a Wordpress site in this particular instance. My ask is if I can just use email and not have to setup a website.

1

lol brotha, what I’m saying is you’re already paying for everything that’s already included here. You don’t need to create a full website. You’re looking for domain email and it’s included here at no additional charge. Just put your landing page on a domain here and you have domain email. You don’t even have to put your landing page on it, it can be a blank site that no one ever knows about, but if you’re using domain email you might as well put a cool landing page on it.

3

you will need to add a website to allow the space for the email side of it...
personally i wouldn't use webmial as my main email as it is very limited...
i would go with an autoresponder option so you can segment the list and hlep them on their journey...
so does that bring into question the landing page software as you can create these on the website....
and with some of the themes you get some premade landing pages...

3

thx... I have mailgun, birdsend, getresponse and other options to do drips but because google is no longer allowing forwards, I need a mailbox for replying.

1

I use AWeber, along with my website. It's simple to use and create emails.

Regarding your question about whether you need a website to have an email address, I can't see why not. There are probably many people who don't have blog posts and instead use email lists and landing pages.

The only downside I can see is that your CEO traffic could potentially be more challenging without a website. If you are using affiliate companies, such as ShareASale, you will need to verify that they don't require a website before approving you as an affiliate.

3

thx. Depending on your landing page software, some make it available to be able to do the affiliate verification.

1

You’re welcome. Hope it works for you.

2

Have you looked at AWeber. Lots of neat features. I've been using it for over two years. Love it

4

thx! I have. All autoresponders do is mail out, but they aren't responsible for a mailbox and replies. In order to get the best in deliverability and reputation, you need to interact with emails.

2

Have you checked out their new workflow features. You can tag subscribers activity and send follow up messages.

3

I've actually moved on from aWeber. GetResponse is my backup. Birdsend is currently my goto for mass mailing and mailgun is what I use for newsletters and automation.

1

sounds like you have all the bases covered...

What does [Not Live] mean when you see it next to person in your messages?

6

No longer a member that is subscribed to WA.

1

They ceased being a member for whatever reason so if you respond to them you won't get an answer.

2

Hi Robert,

It means that the user's membership has lapsed and they need to resubscribe. Currently they cannot access their messages.
