How to Avoid No-No Keywords/Pins in Pinterest

Pinterest has certain lists of topics and keywords for which it is highly NOT recommended to make pins for. I call these no-no pins. In this example I show you one of them which is the keyword: Death Valley National Park.

Despite being a SUPER popular park that people visit year round and look for on search engines like Google and Bing, you won't find pins on this place in Pinterest. Why? I suspect it's because the word "death" is in it and all you really have to do is a search for this or other keywords prior to making pin creation decisions. If you see NO pins are popping up, avoid making pins for that keyword you assume is popular.

Excellent resource my friend... I had never thought about it this way but it makes sense! :-)

Great video and something that one needs to be aware of. When I try and come up with keywords (not for Pinterest but for my website) on Jaaxy I always get Avg 10 and Traffic 10 which can be frustrating. I want to get better results. And when I try and find new keywords I get the same 10/10. Maybe I am doing something wrong or not trying hard enough.

Hi Tony what kind of keywords are you looking up in order to get these results?

Hey Vitaliy,
Thank you for sharing this insight! I was actually wondering about that because when I was searching for keywords, nothing was popping up for me either. I thought it might just be me, but seeing that it’s not coming up for you too really confirms it. Looks like I’ve got some work to do now, time to start making a list of what I can’t use and this will give me a stronger base to work from . Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

It's ok Shawn, I didn't know about this either until recently. I'd erase the board and pins associated with the none searched stuff. But other than that, keep moving forward and building!

Hey Vitaliy, appreciate you putting that post up. I am digging through my boards now and already spotting a few things I can clean up.

Quick one for you. I hooked my Instagram to Pinterest and made a board just for the social posts, but now I am wondering if the hashtags coming over mess with the search side of things.

It seems fine on Facebook, but Pinterest feels like a whole different ball game.
Not seeing a huge difference yet, but figured I would pick your brain while I am at it. Thanks again for all the help.
