How to Appear to be an Expert in Any Niche
Here's how to appear to be an authority or expert in ANY niche.
The first thing we have to do to be seen to be experts is to get an education.
No one can become an authority or an expert in a field without knowing the niche subject.
If we don't know much about a subject, we have to read lots of books and publications by various experts in our fields. We then study them all and watch as many YouTube videos about our niches as we can, taking loads of notes.
Only by learning from 'other' experts can we become experts ourselves.
Selecting relevant ideas and writing about them 'in our style', is paraphrasing.
We learn subjects at school and University this way. We have to learn things to become authorities in our niches.
When sitting exams, we demonstrate our knowledge by paraphrasing what we have learnt. So, there's nothing wrong with paraphrasing the work of others.
Very, very few people can come up with genuinely 'original' content. Medical doctors gain expertise from being taught by other physicians. Teachers learn 'their' subjects by being taught by other teachers when in education, and so on.
We should focus more on learning before writing. But we can quickly pump out articles and content as we're learning from the notes we take.
We can 're-purpose' content by writing blog posts about topics in our niches. We can re-purpose by creating short YouTube videos. We can re-purpose by creating audio presentations. We can create PowerPoint presentations and upload them as slideshows to slide-sharing websites.
We can re-purpose by uploading content to HubPages, to Google +, to LinkedIn, or even to Twitter. We can re-purpose by creating free blogs on blogger.com, or even on Weebly.
However, we must never forget to use links back to our 'authority' websites, though. Otherwise, it'll all be a waste of time and effort!
Here's the thing: make sure that any fresh content we write is not the same as our other uploads.
Re-purposing is by far the best way to come across as being seen to be a bona fide expert — even though we might not be one — yet!
The creation of original content is the way to go. But very few people have the time or the patience to produce 'massive amounts' of online content.
Most EzineArticles authors, for example, have fewer than seven articles uploaded. Experts there have hundreds. Some have over 10,000!
Big online 'authority' sites employ hundreds of people to create content. The BBC in the UK is an example of this. One person could never produce the amount of content the BBC does each day. It's impossible.
However, we can target sub-niches and appear to be authorities on them. The BBC is a 'broad' authority on various topics. But the corporation won't ever be seen as the go-to expert website on say, a tight sub-niche.
We can.
The way to be seen or 'appear' to be considered an authority in our niches is to put in a lot of work.
Luckily, via the Internet, we can upload content 'bit by bit' as we learn. That has the benefit of being seen to be 'normal' by the search engines.
If we suddenly upload masses of content - which is abnormal - we may be accused of being evil spammers!
So, the idea is to 'calm down' and 'learn our trades', like apprentices.
It's the only way.

Awesome blog Vic! This really does go with what I was saying, just with more details and actionable suggestions that I'm sure will work! :D
Thanks man!
Thank you, this was very timely for me as I am feeling overwhelmed with all the things I'd like to write about right now so my site can appear to have some weight and value to it. But I can't. As you said, I need to just calm down and write one thing at a time. :)
I'm pleased that you find this post useful!
When you know your niche inside-out and back-to-front, creating content is easy.
Try not to rush. Gradually build a sound education, then teach those who are interested in your niche what you know - if your expertise is sought.
And when you throw in affiliate links here and there, it'll all be worth your while financially.
Better still, if you can create products of your own, or even offer coaching in your niche for a fee, then so much the better.
