Okay, so I've always wondered what benefits you get when you rank in the top 100 or even the top 200 because I always see it highlighted on people's profile, so it must be some

I wouldn't worry about WA rank, it's merely a reflection of your activity and engagement within the community here, it's not a benchmark of "success" in any shape or form and it certainly won't earn you a dime.

It's also true that some of the most financially successful Members here don't rank in the WA league table at all, they're far too busy earning to engage on the level required to maintain rank in the top 200.

Unfortunately, some members get distracted by following, socialising, blogging and "competitive" ranking within WA to the detriment of their training and then end up complaining they're not getting anywhere business-wise.

I have lost count over the years of the number of high ranking members and even Ambassadors who after a year or two at WA start whining they are still not earning. It often only takes a casual inspection to realise they've ended up with hundreds - if not thousands! - of pieces of content here at WA, in order to rank highly on the WA "leaderboard", but hardly any by comparison on their own websites, where it would actually have done them some good.

I'd strongly recommend that anyone joining WA, first focuses on creating their own successful business, before even thinking about their WA rank. :)

That's an excellent answer, Rich! Thanks for the insight man! :D

No probs. you're most welcome! :)

I really love this comment. Thank you Rich.

I think that the platform at WA is a pay it forward. What you learn here you help others. I see it a learning platform for my our business. I am not a good writer and WA has helped me become more expressive in the way I write. Commenting has helped me to be a lot more conscientiously aware, helping me to replying and answering people on my web site.

We are learning and WA is a great learning platform. I have never worried about the ranking part. Helping others is the platform the Kyle has created so we help one another as a community. There are no benefits other then personal growth.

Those that get to ambassador as those that have worked very hard with in the community. And have created work shops based on what they have learned from other members that came before them.

You have question and your question get answered. some not to great others very helpful. You grow as you learn and you learn as you grow and pay it forward. Ranking is personal growth self satisfaction. Each one of the WA members below have good answers. We all concur that work on your web site first and foremost. The rest will follow.

Chris is where he is because others before him have helped him the same as Rich, John, and The Builder. Kahu is very specific in his answer. He is one of the few member that have climbed the rank very quickly. But he also works very hard on his Business. you can learn from each and every one of them. Through there work shops.

Me well I am still learning.

Always a better way
Linda

Thanks for taking the time out to give your two cents Linda, I really appreciate it.

Your answer was quite unique and very thoughtful.

Great comment! I still work on my site, but I love helping members as well! I love writing, so I write on EA blog maybe only once a week now and been working on my articles for my personal blog. I'm lucky and blessed I can stay at home and work 16 hours if I wanted to, so I can rank up if I want to on WA and still work on my blog and the affiliate bootcamp!! :) I'm honest, and I love ranking up, even if others call it "a ranking game" but the helping part of things I sincerely want to do for others! :)

The benefit I got, I once went onto top 50, was just a feel of how this business is done, planning your content, regularity of publishing, getting and responding to.comments, earning credits from commenting on other people's posts, working on the pillars of creator, helper etc. Since I was brand new it was like a practical exercise with live feedback. However after 6 months I changed my focus back to my business.

That's interesting. Could you expound a little more on how you got this 'feel'?

None really, other than being an active member of the community which is nice.
Maybe it can add a bit of credibility, but in reality, the time would be much better served working on your site.

That's a great suggestion, John. Thanks

Cheers :-)

None none none. Work on your website. It's TIME quicksand.

Haha! Good one Chris!

I know who you are and you are a good writer and can really do well. Learn all you can and work on your website. Do not get caught up in that.

Greater visibility would be the main benefit. Perhaps a greater sense of self-accomplishment. No other benefit really.

Mhm... I see. Well, thank you for clearing that up :)

No special benefit even if you are an Ambassador.
I only get the satisfaction of helping others.
It's a great feeling.

Well, that's nice to know.

:)

Hey Kamari,

This is what I use:

Oh, yes! I had seen your tutorial in the pas Trish, but I didn't remember how to find it again. Thank you!

Please check on your WA Account Settings, if you are set to receive notifications. I receive them through my email. You're also free to opt out from getting notifications.

It depends which ones you tick to receive.

1. Go to WA Account Settings

2. Email Notification Settings
Make sure you add your current email address. If you have changed your email , then you need tetto update it.

3. Do You Want to Receive Emails?
Yes - if you want to receive by email

Hopefully, this helps.

Actually, I have selected to be notified for everything except New Followers. The problem isn't that I am not getting notifications when someone comments on my website, but that the users who interact with my website don't get a notification when I respond to them.

Hopefully, you understand what I mean now.

Some websites like my own have it set so that if you leave a comment on a post and then select to be notified when new comments are added by clicking on a checkbox, but it's totally dependent on the site.

Not everyone wants to be notified of follow up responses. They may just bookmark the site and go back to check for themself. But leaving the option for your readers is a good idea.

The plugin I use is called Lightweight Subscribe to Comments. There's nothing wrong with having more than 5 plugins. It's just there as a suggestion so that new people don't go nuts with plugins and really slow down their site.

Ohh! That makes sense, lol (Re: Going nuts about adding new plugins).

The checkbox thing seems to be a good idea though. I might just look into it.

Thanks, Eric!

No prob! Glad to help!

Yep!!

Lol. What plugin do you use Chris?

Thanks!

You are welcome.

I think having necessary tools like sending an email after a comment is made is okay to have in your plugins. There are some plugins that can slow your site down, that's probably why Kyle says don't have too many. If you install it, and your site speed is not affected, then you should keep the plugin.

Hope this helps!

Well, that does make sense. I just think it's something that should be automatic though, like on YouTube, or even Facebook. Makes it easier to interact with your audience.

Do you have any plugins that you would recommend tho Grace? What do you use?

I haven't used any plugins yet for this purpose and was going to look into it. I have seen blogs that give you the option of getting an email when you get a reply, I'm sure you can just search it out on google.

I'm not sure if I missed it or I'm going ahead of my training but I just completed Lesson 3, Making Money, and I'm still not sure how the payout process works on Amazon Affilia

How do I locate and.add an affiliate to my page I am not able to hear no the training, issue with the volume on my sound. Card

Do you mean an affiliate link to a post/article/page?

Hey Kamari,

You may benefit from watching this advice:

Thanks, Triblu, I'll go check it out! :D

Hello,

I am an Amazon Affiliate and they have changed their fee structure. I have posted it below. It is a fixed fee for the category of product mentioned.

Product Category Fixed Standard Program Fee Rates
Amazon Gift Cards, Wine 0.00%
Video Games & Video Game Consoles 1.00%
Televisions 2.00%
PC, PC Components, DVD & Blu-Ray 2.50%
Toys 3.00%
Amazon Fire Tablet Devices, Dash Buttons, Amazon Kindle Devices 4.00%
Physical Books, Health & Personal Care, Sports, Kitchen, Automotive, Baby Products 4.50%
Digital Music, Grocery, Physical Music, Handmade, Digital Videos 5.00%
Outdoors, Tools 5.50%
Headphones, Beauty, Musical Instruments, Business & Industrial Supplies 6.00%
Apparel, Amazon Echo Devices, Amazon Element Smart TV (with Fire TV), Amazon Fire TV Devices, Jewelry, Luggage, Shoes, Handbags & Accessories, Watches 7.00%
Furniture, Home, Home Improvement, Lawn & Garden, Pets Products, Pantry 8.00%
Amazon Fashion Women, Men & Kids Private Label, Digital Video Games, Luxury Beauty, Amazon Coins 10.00%
All Other Categories 4.00%

The payout options are direct deposit to your bank account or check. If you opt for the check, there will be a fee associated with it. I would sign-up for direct deposit.

You do all this when you request an account and set-up your profile. In case you should have any problems, here is the phone number: 1-800-372-8066.

I hope this helps you. Good luck.

Thank you for that great information George! I remember entering my tax information when signing up but I can't remember telling them how I would like to be paid. lol I'm just gonna have to look through my profile again.

Is there a minimum for cheques and bank deposits?

It's okay, I just checked my account settings and apparently I had already linked it to my bank account. Haha!

So the min payout to the bank is $10 and the min payout for cheque is 100.

Thank you for the advice

I was wondering if we're allowed to link to images from Google to post in our articles that have ads beside them.

Or do we need to have the rights to those images?
<

Yes, I'm afraid, as per Triblu, Kamari.

Giulia

Hey Kamari,

Be VERY careful to use images correctly so you won't get sued. Here is some great training that Rob shared with all of us: Hope this helps you.

Thank you, Trish! I was especially curious because the photo I wanted to use is from Red Bull, but after changing the filter options in Google's advanced search I found another picture that I could use.

I will still read up on the training though, for more information. Thanks!

Not sure that you can use Red Bull's images without running into legal issues. However, that decision is entirely yours to make.

Sigh, I figured as much. I did found one that's safe to use however, it's not the one I wanted but it'll just have to do.

Thank you, Trish. Being a newbie I realize I have mistakenly and ignorantly now used images that were advertised as "free." I wish I had known sooner, obviously. I expect all of us newbies could use a Kyle-video Starter Course instructing us more closely in this matter right from the beginning in our first lessons. It is a lot more complicated that I thought. Oh well, live and learn.

Your websites you list will be a great help to me and I follow all of your discussions. Thanks.

Hey Joan,

I do understand your frustration ... and so do MANY others who have been sued by a major, well known law firm in the States. Many new to the internet have been sued for misuse of images.

However, in fairness to the "law", it is a well known fact that printed mater including photographs in books and all publications are copyrighted ... and that happened long before the internet.

Perhaps we should ask Kyle to add this warning to his awesome training here in order to prevent issues going forward. Good idea!

May I suggest you write Kyle a personal message asking him to include the legal issues regarding images in his training?

Both Kyle and Carson are VERY good at listening to their members (us) input.

Good idea Joan!

Yes and no, it depends. Our friend queenofkings just gave you a like. Check it and keep us posted. thx.

What does it depend on?

It's depends on the images. You have to check their properties.
The trainings explain it well.

You can use images from google if you use the 'Google Advanced Image Search"

https://www.google.ca/advanced_image_search

Once you type your keyword into the search in the 'Google Advanced Image Search" feature. You should scroll down to "Usage Rights" and select from the drop down menu "free to use, share or modify, even commercially"

After your done click the blue button "advanced search"

The images that show up is the ones you can use.

Hope this helps

Yes, I knew of this method, but I thought it only applied if I plan on using the image to make money. But I guess because my website has ads on it then I should use this method.

Thanks!

Never heard of this until now. What a great site for images! Thank you for the information.

Yr Welcome.

Here's training on this topic that's very helpful.
Check it out when you have some time.

You're Welcome. ;)

Thank you I will!
