Greetings To All,

For the rest of this year, I'll be writing weekly posts, of my Healthier Me Challenge!
In each of the posts, I'll be sharing a variety of things: my weekly goals; new recipes; excerpts from books I'm reading; and a few mental obstacles that I'm fighting, to name a few. My hope, is that as I share my journey, I will encourage, inspire and motivate others to reach their Best Self!!!

Weekly Goals:
Instead of focusing on words like "can't", "don't" and "bad", I decided to make some changes. So, each week, I'll adopt a healthier habit, and eliminate an unhealthy habit. It can be anything! The only rule is to adopt AND eliminate!

Week #14
Healthy Habit to Adopt: Vegetarian diet
Unhealthy Habit to Eliminate: lack of exercising

Update:
This was a weird week in that I had a lot of personal business to take care of, and then Wednesday and Thursday I spent a total of 12-15 hours cleaning. I'm actually not a slob, but I am what I call an "organized hoarder" in that I keep everything nice and neat, but it's still too much stuff. But enough of that...that relates to my niche, so I don't want anyone to alter the Spam Police!

Although I started with a vegetarian diet last week, I did have chicken one day and a beef burger another (no bun and I had it with sweet potato fires, not white), so this week is my official full vegetarian week!

Below is one of my favorite meals: vegetarian taco. What looks like ground beef is actually Soy Chorizo (Trader Joe's), it has a spicy taste to it so I don't even need to use taco sauce; lettuce, tomato, and what looks like cheese on top are shredded carrots.

Yummy for my Tummy!!!

I still seem to only be doing the bare minimum when it comes to exercising, which may explain why I have only lost 10 pounds in 3 months. Not sure why the hesitation to embrace exercising outside of walking; I'm certain that there's still some doubt lingering in my mind. Eliminating certain foods can be difficult, but detoxing from those poisonous thoughts...that will take a bit longer...

I would love to be able to report epic victories each week, but the reality is that I can experience little victories each and every day, in choosing healthier options.

That's all for now, folks! Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey.
Have an incredible weekend, and as always...

Strive to Thrive,
Veronica

Little steps are what wins the race, Vaddie, I was stuck on my 90kgs (198.41lbs) plateau for almost 3 months and now the weight is shifting again, YAY! Down to 87kgs (191.80) now.

Sweet!!!

Great Update .. Keep Focused .. Cheers, William.

Ta, William!!! (I think it's time that I learned some new words, lol).

Good morning Veronica,

Slower is better. Still, there will come a time where you do not lose anymore, that is then the time to put in some days of fasting or make a radical change in food. The body gets used to a certain pattern and only a change will shake it up and then you will lose again.

Happy Easter and all the best, Taetske

Yes, I do believe it's time to shake things up a bit. Thanks for reading, Taetske.

Oooh Veronica, you couldn't have worded it all better! Yes, you are right, sometimes it is easier to give up food than to give up those very thoughts that will lead to inevitably giving up. You know what I mean, I'm sure #lol
I'm glad i can finally catch up with your weekly blog. This week, of all weeks, I've struggled from start to now, with my tiredness catching up with me. So badly, to the point that I've hardly managed to do any reading here on WA or online for more research. Maybe sometimes we need breaks to recharge our energies and our minds.
Have a great week 15, Veronica, and a blessed Easter xxx

Greetings, Giulia!

My apologies for the late response, I seemed to have missed a few! Hope that this week finds you more energized. Thanks for reading, Giulia!

Awesome fitness regimen chief Waddie gal!

Thanks for the encouragement, Papa Waddie!

Awesome goal. I am looking forward to following your progress.

Thank you, Sharon.

Your menus are phenomenal! Happy Easter!

Thank you so much, Arthur. Hope that you have an enjoyable Easter as well

Thanks for sharing, Veronica.

Thanks, Roger!

Hello Veronica ! Thank you for the post, I enjoyed reading it. Keep going! The battle is in the mind, and you are on the right track by educating yourself with reading about the topic.
My wife and I are also moving forward with making changes in our diet, and of course, exercise.
I was very motivated when I was younger in the fitness world, and got away from it after I got married to my wife Christine, and having children.
That is why I was motivated into creating my first website. It is a great motivator for me to start and continue working out, so that God willing, I can continue into my older years:-).
Maybe you can find motivation on the site, or let me know what you are looking for in terms of starting to exercise. I hope that the site would be a blessing to you , sincerely, Israel.

Forgot to mention, although it's geared towards men, it's really for everyone. :-)

The biggest challenge is wanting immediate results, which I know is insane, especially since it took me years for me to get to where I am now.

I appreciate you reading my post and sharing your site, Israel.

It's sure difficult to incorporate new things. Look at my two posts They should be helpful. I wrote them for myself, too

and this one, too:))

I just read it, Vera. Excellent!

awww.. thanks, dear..:))
