The Power of Affiliate Marketing
If you are still working on getting your business going I just want to share with you what affiliate marketing has done for me...
The last couple of weeks I spend with family and friends. It was actually nice to turn the computer off and know that my business was working itself while I was spending quality time with people I love. The sales kept ticking in while I was having fun in Sweden!
Now, wait that did not happen over night though. I did not get my business to that point after four weeks. It took hard work and determination.
It is all about your mindset, are you willing to work without a pay for weeks maybe months before you see any income come in? I know I was cause I saw what affiliate marketing can do. I left no other options on the table then to succeed. Because of that I could take time off, enjoy my travels spend time with family and friends.
It became very clear how flexible my family`s life has become because of affiliate marketing. Coming back from Sweden we got stuck in Washington because of cancelled flights due to the weather. People were so stressed out...
After a couple of hours in the service desk line with probably another couple hours to go I got access to a selfservice computer to change the tickets. This is Monday night and the earliest flight back that I could book was Wednesday, I looked at my husband and said I can take another two days off without a problem... It dawned on me how flexible I can be with affiliate marketing.
If you are new to this, follow the training here at WA there are no secrets or short cuts, implement what you learn on a niche that help people solve a problem. Continues hard work will allow you to enjoy it later on!!
Set goals, believe in yourself and you will be surprised what you can accomplish!!

This type of business does have flexibility but still requires our attention from time to time. We can set the business on autopilot for a few days but eventually will need attention. Glad you returned safely and had a nice holiday. Thank you for sharing. Debbie
Hi Debbie, I hope this post didn`t come across as your business does not need attention... my point is if you build your business right and put a lot of hard work into it, it will pay off and you can take well deserved vacations.

Our businesses do need attention but there are times that life has priority over our business such as airline flights and holidays to be enjoyed. Debbie
It it so flexible! No wonder we see so many people in coffee shops happily tapping away on their ipads lol

Lol I guess I am guilty of not posting enough of anything!
I still have a ways to go to reach the spot you're at now but 2014 is definitely starting out in a good direction as far as slow but continued increases in traffic and some Amazon sales on two sites.
I've been very slow to learn how to focus on one project at a time (I want to work with allll the ideas NOW haha) and everything else for that matter, so my general progress has been taking longer than I wanted due to that.
I'll try to do better at posting. ;) I finally have a clear direction on ideas for the sites I have so that will help a lot and make faster/more progress this year than all my other years combined doing this.
If anyone needs a boost or a lesson in long term perseverance then just send me a message!

If you are still in the niches that we have discussed in the past then it is only natural for it to be slow right now. I think you mention something very important - clear direction for the sites - that is key, where do you see your site in one month, three months a year from now...

Yes, same niches. But that's the weird part, my traffic is increasing (to it's highest level yet) in the winter and the other site sold some Christmas ornaments this week. Go figure..in January. So I think spring will be great!
I spent far too many months not knowing what I wanted them to look like first of all, and (for a long time at the beginning) not understanding the mechanics of Wordpress in order to make the ideas become visual on the sites. I was too focused on the technical bits and not the reader. It got a lot easier to write when I started writing for people.
I spent months fighting with different themes, different layouts and images (wow, did I fight with images) on both sites and other things to do with building them too.
I spent months on figuring out the exact bits of info I wanted/needed in each post, revising and revising and revising again.
It's only recently that I've figured out all of that and now have an understanding of what they are going to look like and how to make it happen consistently. The traffic and sales so far this year certainly reflect that. :))
Thank you Beverley! We are back, still waiting for the luggage though.... Let me just sum it up by saying it has been a "interesting" trip back lol
