But here's the problem with Valentine's Day: it can be a very difficult day emotionally for those who are not "connected" with a significant other. As a newspaper reporter some years ago, I did a story on how the e.g. divorced, separated, involuntarily unattached cope with Valentine's Day and having no reason to celebrate it.
Yes, I agree. But this happens on weekends, on Christmas, etc.
Strong people look for the ways to share their love with their siblings, parents, friends. They don't isolate themselves and look for occasions to break their solitude and get acquainted with somebody. Weak people feel sorry for themselves and complain. I by no means blame anybody- how could I? But only we are responsible for what we do with our life.
Though I agree with you- it's a problem.:)
Your probably right P. Every holiday leaves somebody out. That’s why it’s nice to be pleasant every day and give out a smile or compliment. .

I will probably be getting married in another year, so I can't really relate to individuals who feel acutely lonely on Valentine's Day. But I know they are out there. Yes, we have a responsibility to create our own happiness by not isolating ourselves, but because I may be attracted to someone doesn't mean they feel an attraction to me. So it isn't always possible to control how our lives go, despite our best efforts. There may be many rejections before finding a positive response, and those rejections can hurt deeply.
It's life. It's man-woman relationship, which is never easy.
Anyway, I wish you to follow your heart, and if you feel your decision is right,go for it. :)
