Drying the Ocean
New shocking videos come from the territories affected by the hurricane in Florida.
"The sea is gone", "Beach has gone"- you can see the headlines of the news today.
The water has gone as far as some hundred meters on Tampa shores.
And similtateously, the same force producing this effect in Tampa, brings in water on the eastern coast flooding Maiami.
But having allowed the people to look at the sea floor, Irma makes a comeback in larger amount in Tampa bay. Destruction and inundation are devastating aftermath of Irma.
Last weekend about three million people were left without electricity because of the destruction caused by Irma in Florida. The most serious situation is in South and Central Florida, where 15 to 25 inches of rain fell which caused widespread flooding.
Meteorologists on both sides of the Atlantic already call this hurricane the most powerful, and it can win the title of one of the most unpredictable.It has changed its track so many times that it was impossible to say exactly where it was going to move.
Irma also beats all the other hurricanes in terms of the "accumulated cyclone energy", that is duration and intensity of the storm
Irma managed to maintain the maximum wind speed (not less than 288 km/h) for 37 hours, longer than any hurricane on Earth for all history of observations
Many people suffered financial losses and put their lives at risk listening to weather forecasts. Thus, some people are reported to have left Maiami for Tampa to escape the danger only to find much bigger dangers.
Hurricane Irma was downgraded to Category 1 storm on Monday after its destructive move through the Caribbean and Florida(And imagine it retained its intensity!), but warnings of flooding, strong winds and storm surges remain.
Authorities continue to warn of dangers of electrocution from downed power lines, flooding and even snakes and alligators. They urge people to remain indoors.

It was great to see our friends from Florida with us again. I thank God for keeping them safe and still pray for Rick. But I know that his not appearing here yet might be well connected with the lack of power.Hope it will be restored soon.:)

I have been glued to SKY and BBC World. Will try to call my friends again later in the afternoon. Got an email from Deanna in Stuart, 180 miles north of Miami, they were spared, only some green in the gardens are battered but the houses are ok.

Yes, Keith. We should be thankful to God that this monster downgraded to Cat. 2 and later 1, when moving across south- west.(And imagine it retained its 4 Cat.)

I believe it's the power that is off. But he lives in Tampa area which geography makes it vulnerable to hurricanes. He wrote me he was staying with his friends in a boarded home , so I do hope it's still the power... And such a dinosaur , as he is, he doesn't own a mobile to get in touch.:-)

I read today that it would take some time to mend it.Too many homes and businesses are without electricity now.
More than 7 million are without power. Hopefully that is the only thing holding up his return
It will definitely take some time to restore all that power.

Yes. My prayers from Spain truly are with all in Texas, Florida and the Caribbean. Looks hard but you will recover and repair and hopefully will become stronger out of your suffering

My understanding was you could walk on land several hundred feet out in Tampa Bay due to waters being sucked away!
Yes, Carol. I read a lot on it - there are opinions that the hurricane changed the shape of the coast in many places.

I'm OK, Vera! I was not only without power, but it took much longer to restore my internet service. Back to normal now! :)
