Hi Folks,
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend whatever the day and time it is for you.
My intention is not to make this post anything but pleasant, but I'm finding that hard to do!
I have not been able to respond to any emails since mid-day yesterday, now almost thirty hours ago.
For some reason, Google has 'ceased' my email and there is no way I can activate it. I've been attempting to re-start it so often that they've blocked me due to too many attempts!
I have good reason to believe there have been two hackers attempts at my email! I expect that is the reason for my email being ceased.
Yesterday Morning Started Well
Yesterday, being Saturday, started well. I had bright ideas for moving forward with the plans I had made. I purchased a Kindle version of a book that appealed to me. That was at mid-day just prior to losing access to my email.
It is now Sunday afternoon I have achieved nothing all weekend.
I've not read any further on with the book than I read before making the purchase from Amazon.
Should I Sign up for a Paid Email Account?
For many years I had a Vodafone email account which I paid for. About five years ago Vodafone ceased providing email service in New Zealand. The solution to go with Gmail seemed fine.
No doubt, if I subscribed to an email service provider, help would be available at times such as I'm now experiencing.
With Google, there is no effective help. They keep rejecting my password. I create another which they accept once. I use it again and it is rejected!
I live in hopes that my next post will be full of good news!

Check out protonmail.com. This service is free, and does have a paid version too. Yiu can encrypt your mail.
I use it for messages that need encryption.
I have a different email service that I use that provides me with about 10 different email tags, @post dot com, @ photographer dot net, etc. The options allow you to tailor your mail to match your niche, professional work, or just to be different.
The nice thing is, you don't need a Gmail account to use Google. All you need is an email account to create a Google account that can also be used anywhere Google has access, ie You tube.

I've had a Google account for many years. I did not have a Gmail account until Vodafone stopped providing an email service for New Zealand. Vodafone email was a paid product which I was happy with. When that service was no longer available I took the quick lazy step to use Google!
Access to my Google account has been restored!

My first reaction when clicking on the link was its location as opposed to mine being NZ.
However, I see it is a worldwide service so I will look further into this. I'm happy to pay for a good service. I've always believed in paying for what I receive. Going with Gmail was a quick decision, not necessarily a wise one!

I need to educate myself on these matters rather than trusting my familiar way of doing things online.
I learned about protonmail by searching for an encrypted email. While there, I received an email newsletter sharing info about a VPN.
Sometimes we get too comfortable and 'forget' to venture outside (of that comfort zone)...grin.

I've been all weekend trying to solve this problem and a fresh start tomorrow morning would be sensible!

I regained my Google account yesterday, but just getting into some form of activity :)
Sorry to hear about your Google plight Valerie. I have many email addresses but only use two. Apple and Google. When we get hacked, it’s so annoying to get that resolved.
As members of WA we also have free email addresses connected to our websites. Have you considered using that?

Yes, I do use WA free emails but they are redirected from my Google emails.
This is a nightmare that I doubt will ever be resolved!

I don't know if I'll ever get it sorted but I need to.
I can't access my Adsense account which is well over $100 increasing near to the level of $130 required for NZ residents.
And, my email account contains some content I need!

This site is where you can find out if indeed your gmail was hacked.
Did you create a recovery email? If so, you can use that to communicate further to learn how you can get into your gmail account.
