How Do You Welcome People to Wealthy Affiliate?

As a member of this great community I find it disturbing that we profess to be, or are working towards being, professional online marketers and yet attention to detail is often missing when welcoming a member.

It is a fact that not all people appearing in the feature ‘A Special Welcome to Our New Premium Members‘ are actually new to WA, nor are they a new Premium member.

Many have been here before. Some may have commenced as Starter members and left with that same status.

Many others have been Premium members and left, then re-subscribed.

If a welcome is to be seen as genuine, it would be courteous to look at the date the member first joined WA.

If their date of joining is earlier than two months, go down through the comments and look for the Premium logo beside their name. They are sure to have responded to a comment from another member. If Premium appears beside their name then they should not be welcomed as a new member.

If the member remained as Starter, then is appropriate to congratulate them on their Premium membership.

I see this as a matter of courtesy and helping a returning member to feel comfortable.

I have seen comments where members have explained that they are not new, and are returning to WA.

Referring to my opening paragraph, if we are to be professional in this very competitive business of online marketing then we need to pay attention to detail in every aspect.

Detail is a large factor in distinguishing the unsuccessful from the successful.

Wishing Great Success to All.

Enjoy your wonderful life. It is precious!

It's the little things that count. I do check but sometimes one slips by, but I try to correct it when I notice it.

Thanks Trevor for leaving your comment. We all make slip ups but it's those who clearly never bother to look that tempted to me to write the post :)

I hope that I have not said anything wrong. I try to be,and my intent is to nicely welcome them. I do look to see if they are really new. If they are not new, why would welcome them? So I agree with you.
cheers,
william

Thank you William for your comment. I greatly appreciate it :)

Correct.

Thank you for your comment Chukuemeka. Greatly appreciated :)

Hi, Valerie a very good reminder it can be so easy to overlook this. I think that finding the members name and including that in your message is a great way to make folks feel welcome in the community that if we reflect back on can be so overwhelming in those early days.

Very true Alexander. Including their names is a very nice and important thing to do. It is about treating people the way we would like to be treated. For example, I did not appreciate being treated as a newbie to affiliate marketing when I joined WA. My profile showed otherwise! I certainly don't take time to read the profile of everyone I welcome but I read enough to learn a little about the person. What I am getting at is the few who will do anything to get a higher ranking which, in my view, doesn't sit well for those who are promoting WA.

I reviewed my welcome message, and I believe it's suitable for both starter members as for long term members

I'm sure it is Loes :)

I hope I had been considerate and did not insult anyone.

Jimmy, you are always so polite. I'm sure your welcomes are gratefully received.
Thanks so much for leaving your comment :)

Thank you, Valerie, for believing in me. The more I will become polite now.

That's lovely Jimmy. You made me smile :)

Attention to detail is important. Thank you for this helpful reminder, Valerie.

I try to catch the history in wording my welcome messages Valerie. Thanks for this reminder!

That's a great way to welcome people Michael. Like anything in life, it's about building relationships and helping people to feel comfortable with moving forward.
