Steampunk Remote.
I was pleasantly surprised when I woke this morning, in sunny Antipodean climes, to find that one of my Steampunk creations I’ve recently re-promoted had been retweeted by Make to their 190,000+ followers!
Its a bittersweet moment too:
If only the website I’m building was a few more weeks down the track, I could have directed all traffic being generated there instead of to my current site. Now, despite this admitted setback, the process has taught me that re-packaging and re-promoting good content to niche audiences (if your product attracts a range of niche audiences) really contains power.
For example, when I first made the re-tweeted functional artwork in 2013, it got 25K views largely from 2 niche communities: Steampunk and electronics aficionados. Now re-packaged, it is going out to a newly minted makers as well as to sustainability, science fiction and futurism communities.
Finishing the new website
Now, for the next stage of finishing the new website, transitioning all old posts over to it and pairing each with the smashing affiliate links I’ve been scouring my sources to identify!

You finally got me to complete a research I never got around to and the definition: Steampunk A subgenre of science fiction and fantasy featuring advanced machines and other technology based on steam power of the 19th century and taking place in a recognizable historical period or a fantasy world. 2. a subculture inspired by this literary and film subgenre: the fashions and gadgets of steampunk.
