The Missing Four

'The missing four' was inspired by Joe (@joezout) but we'll come to that in a bit. I must remember to say two things, I'd ask you to remind me but I'm not sure that will work, complicated logistics and all that.

Good morning one and all and maybe some extra bods' that have happened upon this post fortuitously, by accident or other means. I have broken with tradition and put off my normal routine to pen a quick note for you to peruse whilst still waiting for the coffee to have it's desired effect.

I'm not having coffee, I was just assuming you would have one in hand. I gave up coffee and tea a number of years ago, judge not, each to their own. Abstention is purely to try to keep the daily caffeine levels to a minimum, preferring to draw much-needed energy from other sources.

I was going to say 'natural' but coffee and tea are both natural sources of caffeine, though I have a feeling the processing might affect the actual chemical 'make-up' of the substance. I base that on nothing more than a 'feeling' I have, possibly due to having read something along those lines at some point, no scientific evidence whatsoever to back it up.

That actually segues nicely into the next part, and indeed all parts.

As we were talking about coffee, or lack of, one of my 'replacements' was in the form of 'green' drinks. If I remember correctly at the time, we had decided to try to have a more alkaline diet. Rather than going into the 'whys and wherefores', let's just say that I'm not sure I would be able to maintain my current intensity, were it not for the diet I now have. Again, each to their own.

Anyway, that wasn't the main point. Yesterday's post 'Seven out of ten ain't bad' was flawed. May I add that this was unintentional. As Joe quite rightly pointed out, I only mentioned three of the seven items that were on my list of ten.

In all honesty (I have a post about that phrase, I think) I hadn't given it a second thought. It wasn't meant to be one of those "Five things that make you smile" posts, it was more to do with the entirety of the situation rather than reiterating individual events.

No one wants to read my itinerary now do they. That said, there may be more of you that want to know what the missing successes were. If so, then fear not, here they are.

I had to check and follow up on some refunds I am waiting for. I had to order some more 'green' drinks.(See, now you see the connection). Package up and drop off an EBay sale. (two broken car stereo's)
Check to see if I had been granted permission to use an affiliate link for a product I would like to promote and finally, double check an EBay listing to make sure I had put the item as 'spares/repairs' so as to cover myself.

Turns out there were five, not four, which means that the title should have been six, not seven. Such complexities. I plead forgiveness for my carelessness, I think it was the 'boxes' that confused me.

For all those interested, I have seven on the list for today but don't worry, I won't be going through them all here.

You didn't remind me, did you ? Luckily I have just remembered what the second of the two things were. However, seeing as it has taken me just under 600 words to get to this point, I feel I would be pushing the boundaries of our relationship, were I to continue for another few hundred words. No siree.

Now is the perfect time to cease trading, methinks. Hopefully you have enjoyed the time we have spent together. Just for the record, it should have taken you approximately four and a half minutes.

Rather than working it out 'longhand' I used a 'words to time' calculator. Quite the handy little tool. https://wordstotime.com/ .

Have yourselves a terrific Thursday and we'll do it again soon. Stay safe, healthy and happy (Is it nearly time to change that, or do you think it's evergreen ?)

Twack Romero.

I was reading through the responses and saw where you were considering an espresso and writing a blog post... LOL!

As much as I truly enjoy reading your posts, there are a few times it requires work in my end to keep up with you.

PLEASE! I beg of you... don’t drink an espresso and then write a blog immediately after.

Now to get to what I truly wanted to respond to:

I am all in on the caffeine and coffee. I sometimes wish it wasn’t necessary, but it does give me the kick I need in the morning.

If I wasn’t drinking it for the “kick”... it would be for the taste. I really like the way it tastes too.

Wishing you the best!

Bob

Thank you so much Bob, this made me laugh this morning. I daren't imagine what my posts would be like were I to partake in some strong coffee prior to writing.
Worry not, it's off my list for good.
The good thing is that there are plenty of alternatives should you ever have the desire to give coffee the boot. Daft as it sounds, a pint of water will give you pretty much the same 'boost' in the morning, as does pure orange juice.
If you went to decaf, then you could still enjoy the aroma and taste.
Hope you have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.

I just may give it some thought to do when I don’t have to get up so early to write for my website before work.

Oh, I know... the day I fire my employer would be the day to swear off the caffeine. Great suggestion!

👍😀

Always more than welcome. Have a fantastic weekend.

I gave up on coffee a few months ago as I found out my skin was not happy with it. I guess it was just the instant coffee, a high quality one made with a coffee maker might be better but I didn't wanna buy a coffee maker and went for a cheaper option 😊
I replaced it with matcha tea, mesquite latte and hot chocolate. Always ready to try something new...
Thursday has been good and interesting. A nice surprise being an organic comment on one of my websites 😊

That's awesome Lenka. When I read the first part it made me think that it would be an excellent article for your site. I didn't realise that coffee could have an effect on your skin. Maybe it's because it's a diuretic ?
'Mesquite' makes me think of Tequila, for some reason, that would be a 'pick me up' in the mornings 😉.
That's brilliant to hear about the organic comment, they are always welcome and certainly put a smile on my face when I have had them, though that hasn't been very often.
Have a fun packed, frivolous Friday.
Ah, I've just remembered, it was 'Mescal' that was the name of a type of Tequila. I think it was the one with the worm in it. We used to serve it in the pub I worked in, back in the eighties.

It seems like there is something they add to the instant coffee (Nescafe) my body doesn't like. I get spots like acne on my face, not many but it's still not nice.
Mesquite sounds like tequila a bit, you are right 😊I wrote an article about it a few months ago and made a video on my YT channel as well. It seems very few people know it and it's a pity, the taste is really nice.
The organic comment was on my website with reviews, it's the article that ranks page 1 in google so now and then someone comments there.
Now I have four websites, website hoarder 😊The new one is just the domain, needs a lot of work.
Have an amazing Friday too. Hope you are having a nice summer weather like we have, supposed to be 30°C today.

Today is the first day of sun for about three or four, it's been constant drizzle, which is good for the plants, everything is very green and plush.
If only we had more time to explore all the sites we'd like to set up, that would be on my 'wish list'. I, like you, have just bought a domain for number four, it won't be my focus just yet though, maybe in a few weeks I'll start looking for a theme.
Weird isn't it, that you have such a specific reaction, but good that you were able to identify it.
Enjoy the heat.

I couldn't resist, installed a theme, created menu and some settings to get indexed and put a logo on the top. I didn't like the feeling of having the site empty when the domain was registered 😉So that was my Friday. Now time for relaxing...

Nicely done, a hugely productive day, like your style. Will you be able resist the urge to start adding content ?😲

Of course I wasn't, spent my evening adding drawings as it seemed too empty 😉Now I'm happy.

Lol, I knew it.🤣

My coffee is still brewing so I haven't had my morning jolt yet. That words to time thing might come in handy once I figure out doodly

I agree, sometimes it's difficult to work out he reading time of our own posts as we probably skip over some of it. Bet the coffee aroma was awesome, that is one thing I miss.

So does the 'green' mean green tea Twack? That's what I drink, though now I mix in Yunnan Puerrh a black tea, with it for added flavour and apparently amazing health benefits. Best of both worlds. Yay!
Must confess I don't count how many items you mentioned, I just enjoy the post.

Thank you Linda.
Not green tea, though I have had it on occasion. These vary in content, as in they could be specific mixtures of just a few vegetable and minerals, or a bumper compilation including some of the lesser known 'super foods' and the like.
When we first tried them, we were looking for those that had MSM in (not to be confused with MSG).
For the most part, all of them are going to be better for you than a can of something fizzy.
I've added a picture of one of the ones I remember we had so you can see the ingredients.

Wow that's a lot of ingredients, all good stuff though.
. My green tea just has green tea in it, the dried leaves and the Yunnan black tea the same.
Is that a drink or a supplement?
I am not one for fizzy drinks, though occasionally I would have one when we were out.

An occasional treat then. I believe they are classed as supplements but I wouldn't put them in the same bracket as other types that are designed to help with either weight gain or weight loss, if that makes sense.
I would say that indirectly they can help with weightloss due to the increase in the amount of water you drink. Also there's a subtle mindset shift as you have no desire to 'snack' when you're drinking a something specifically designed to help with your overall health, kind of counter-productive.
Might put that Yunnan on the shopping list, I am always open to trying something new and I used to have green tea in the mornings.

A drink full of good stuff is great.
If you get Yunnan tea, get the Yunnan Puerrh, supposed to have more health giving properties.
Love my green tea, even more so since I tried adding the Yunnan to it. Can't drink ordinary tea now, haven't touched it in years.
Don't like that teabags are made with plastic and you can end up drinking particles of it.

I'm behind the times or didn't get the memo, I thought teabags were still made from paper, my bad.
I will be on the look out for Yunnan Puerrh.

I did too. There was a programme called How its made and they had teabags on there.
Apparently the plastic is necessary otherwise the paper would fall apart. There was a big outcry and many people started buying loose tea. My tea shop was always crowded. Now it has gone back to normal, they forget or pretend too because teabags are easier. Lol.

That's the thing, it's easy to start doing the right thing when it's fresh in your mind but then as the memory fades, so does the motivation to continue.

Exactly. Though when it comes to ingesting plastic I don’t forget, lol.😂

Must admit to having noticed it only you have me so conditioned I never gave it another second's thought as know you will revisit and put it right!! lols

Understand that green drinks are much healthier however went from being a tea drinker to coffee and now drink too much of that!!

Still, new science says that is healthy for you go figure!!

Thank you for the pointers you are always most helpful which goes a long way to counteract any ommissions wish it was commissions... lols

Have a good one!!

R.

Commissions, there's a novel thought. They will come, I can feel in my water, which I have an abundance of due to all those 'green' drinks.
As I said, it never even occurred to me until Joe mentioned it, any excuse for another post.
Having a good one (even with the second full day of drizzle) as I hope you are too.

It does appear to be currently however heartening to hear you can feel it in your water which sounds abundantly copious is that a sign they will be too....;

Never ending days of sunshine although has rained late at night for the past couple....

Glad your having a good one...mine is good too (apart from a couple of niggles which are to be expected in the usual run of things)

Laters,

R.

I think so, I probably misjudged the amount of time I would be doing the groundwork but when the game plan is long term then it's worth it, in my mind.
