Seven Out Of Ten Ain't Bad

Seven out of ten ain't bad. It's not excellent but it's not bad. It does depend on your own standards I suppose. I mean it's not perfect is it. That would be ten out of ten.

Allow me to give you some context. After the last few posts I thought it was time to take my own advice and try to become more focused. Follow thorough until the deed is done.

This would have been fine were it not for 'life' sticking its oar in. The day's not over yet though, there's still time.

I wrote my list last night, just before retiring for the evening. I knew there were a couple of things I needed to do and there was no way I could forget to do them. Write a list and leave it on the desk. Sorted.

Before you know it, I'm a fizzy tropical drink. Seven up. Plus, you could say it was against the odds. This morning I had a missed call from my eldest, he's working about sixty miles away this week and he'd tried to get hold of me to let me know he'd forgotten to leave his car keys at home (he had a lift to work this morning)

Basically, that means my normal transportation method is stranded on the drive, unable to move past his car which is parked directly in front and in the way. 'No worries' we can work around that.

I had made a couple of trips out, supermarket and courier 'drop-off' shop and was back home when a car alarm started its shrill melody. You guessed it. Luckily, after about twenty minutes it stopped of its own accord. No rhyme or reason to it.

It's interesting to note that the first item on the list still hasn't been ticked off. Car insurance shouldn't be such a hassle and they should tell you everything they require before you sign on the dotted line, not that we do anymore, now it's a digital signature.

I put a tick next to the items that I have completed. Occasionally I put a square next to those that I have attempted but for some reason haven't completed to my satisfaction. There is one square on the list.

A few weeks back you may remember that I mentioned I had a webinar to watch. Well, I started watching it but after a series of interruptions I decided to leave it alone until I could guarantee being able to watch it all the way through. It's one of those that has only play/pause options.

Today was my third attempt and it didn't end well, that's why it gets a square □ Look at that, a square.◻ This one's bigger. How cool is that ? Courtesy of www.alt-codes.net There really is a site for all of our needs.

So, all I have left to do, aside from the insurance documents, is to put a listing on EBay and go through a training/tutorial about making the most of our FB profiles. It's not for my profile, although it could do with an overhaul, it's for the new page and I wondered if I could pick up some ideas/tips.

I am generally very excited about life at present, not that I am the polar opposite at any other time, it's just that there's plenty going on to be excited about.

Before I depart, lend me your ears. I have just checked out Rami's post 'Where Is The Kindness & Love Among Us Network?' It is worth a read and taking the suggestions. We have power in numbers and the ability to help each other in many ways, should we so choose. It's one of the reasons why we have the 'Follow Me On' section, so we can follow each other outside of the realm of WA. Why would we not ? As I mentioned in my reply to Rami's post, there are on average 20,000,000 daily users, with eight more being added every other second. Plenty to go round.

Time for me to 'Love you and leave you' sad though that is. I hope you have all had a fulfilling day and remember to stay safe, healthy and happy.

You had seven things to do, you only mentioned three of them I think, if you're gonna write a post about seven things don't drive me nuts, right about them, tell me what they are. I'm going to guess, 1 was shopping, 2 was insurance, 3 was watching that video, then off you go about somebody else's post. I'm going nuts here what was 4, 5, 6, 7, no wonder you write things down.

Hello Joe, it's a fair point and one that I hadn't even thought about, but you are right. Here are the missing four.
I had to check and follow up on some refunds I am waiting for.
I had to order some more 'green' drinks.
Package up and drop off an EBay sale.
Check to see if I had been allowed to use an affiliate link for a product I would like to promote.
Double check an EBay listing to make sure I had listed the item as 'spares/repairs' so as to cover myself.
That's actually five I believe. I shall endeavour to be more thorough in futre posts.
Have a terrific Thursday.

As always you are too kind....even more so for the shout out!!

It;s a good job your a handyman with cars otherwise that blocked episode could have cost you the day and errands not fulfilled which would have added to the affray!! It's only midweek which is an important juncture certainly not a point to start running in arrears with...... that's for certain if you want to keeo the week on track!!

Your intention to follow through appears to be a new leaf turned over....ha ha you know |I'm only kidding but seriously I know that is always your intention only as you say life decides to stick its oar in...have not heard that expression in a while!!

I sincerely hope you get what you want and finally have time for the webinar.....Don't want to tread where angels fear to only I thought I saw you praising the way insurance bandits where working now...that it was a doddle or were you saying that mortgage insurance is a breeze and car insurance is another matter...ha ha

Keep at it it will have to give!!

Thanks again!

R.

See, us customers are always fickle and can change their mind on a whim, as is our prerogative. As for the brokers, I think it's to do with 'transactional timing'. i.e. once the premium has been paid.
I agree, Wednesday is a pivotal day as tomorrow we will already be thinking that the week is almost over.
I failed miserably on the webinar so I have yet another half full page of notes that has never got further than 'step 2' of three.
Always very welcome for the mention, maybe we should pepper the etherways with the same message and see if it sticks.
Looking forward to a new day. Have a good one.

You too and fully intend to...all in good time.... building!! ;

Yes it was a good read Rami’s and so was yours my friend great post

Thank you Dorrie, glad you enjoyed them both, hope fully it will encourage more members to join forces on the other platforms and support each other.

Yes I agree

I remember the early days of car alarms. You would hear one going off nearby and rush to stop the bad guy from breaking in only to find out a train had gone by setting off the alarm thru vibration. Thanks for the heads up on the alt site, it's ♠'s with me.

Take care my friend.
Greg

You can still buy car alarms that sound like they're from the eighties with mutiple sounds. My lad is back now and believes it was down to a window being slightly open.
The 'Alt' site was a lucky find, I'd like to be able to actually use the Alt key, rather than having to copy and paste though.
Thanks for dropping in Greg, always appreciated. Ⓒ Just wanted to see what it looked like.

Great post , it is interesting in training olympians they cut their goals in half and get them focussed on that then gradually increase it. That way motivation stays high. Good idea I would say...

Thank you Phil. Looking at the colossal achievement they make by just qualifying fo rthe Olympics, I would agree with you.
