The Last Of The Guests Have Gone.

That's right, the last of the guests have gone and I've just spent the morning clearing up. It's been quite the party. No regrets though, it's been a blast. Now I can get back to some normality, relatively speaking, of course.

I had to check back through my notes and see what I had been planning to post about, before the doorbell rang, what's seems like an age ago. I think it was going to be about not putting things off.

Steve (Exgrosteve) did a post the other day, where he mentioned about taking the word 'excuse' out of his vocabulary. No more excuses, just getting on and doing stuff. Since I read that, I have been trying to follow the same path. It's not easy.

It becomes easier if you set realistic targets though. Knowing that whatever goes on your list needs to be attended to, no excuses, makes a difference in planning.

Not letting things build up and dealing with them, in a prompt manner, has to be the best policy.

One way of helping in this area is to have a routine. Many of you probably do already and I sort of have one. Life doesn't always 'play ball'l though. When that happens, that list of small jobs can soon turn into a pile of big ones. I am attempting to rectify this myself. Not having the luxury of excuses is really helping.

Like today, usually at this time I have finished a post and might be adding images, ready for publishing. Due to a few 'Puppy sitting' issues, this was not the case. Less said about that, the better.

In an ideal world, I try to attend to all my WA things in the morning. The afternoon is for everything else. Evenings, after meal and bath time, is more WA.

I try to deal with all notifications on the same day. Due to the different time zones, I can go to bed with a clear inbox and wake up with a few dozen notifications. Replying to comments in chronological order is how I like to address them, though this isn't always possible.

What is impossible, is trying to read every single post that comes through. If you are struggling to get through them, to the detriment of your own work, then you might have to let some of them go. Yes, it might make you feel crummy but that's because you're a nice person and probably feel guilty. We all do but I think we all accept that it's just the way it is.

You could always leave them in your inbox and read them when you get a spare few minutes. A comment a day or so later, will still be appreciated.

Replying to those that have 'followed' me is one of the areas that I 'need to do better' at. I tend to let it build up. When I get round to it, there's quite a few, not just a couple. Everyone gets a reply unless we've met in comments. Doing this on a daily basis will keep that list in the single figures. Replying is important, at least to me. It's a chance to engage and that initial 'meet and greet' can blossom. Even just reading that short excerpt of their 'Bio' can be very enlightening.

Creating a routine is a good thing, it doesn't mean it has to be set in stone. If you can stick to it then your time will be better spent and used far more efficiently. The more efficient you are, the more you can achieve.

Being more clinical in your approach to what needs to be done, will allow you the opportunity to do the things you'd like to do. Try not to let things build up.

There now, back to normal.

Have a thorough Thursday.

Twack Romero.

I was dealing with 60 to 70 a day when my computer decided to take a permanent vacation. Now I have over 250 open so as you stated one has to start making decisions to get the website where it should. Also with the advent of the Pin industry and Jay assigning homework it is driving me further back. I had 2 days of regular work last week that I had to deal with. I did 5 comments a little while ago and will do 5 more in the a.m. Speaking of Pins, do you now if we can use WA or WP images to make our own pins?

hey hi Edward --- and here i thought you were talking about a holiday! ... lol ... yikes! .... sounds like more 'work' to me! ... chuckles! ... ah-yes, we can all relate ... Pins? ... ask Jay, he'd know for sure ...

good to see ya .... all the best ... :)

Just have to keep working our way through them Edward, we'll get there.
As for the 'Pin' images. When you create a pin that is linked to a post from your website, Pinterest will pull a few of the images from that post, so that you can select one if you like.

Thank you for the info. I listened to the first 2 video's twice but must have missed something. 7 for 7 on Google. I fount out today why the lingo is so important every new endeavor one tries. In the first few weeks of WA I would get lol from guys/gals and understand from the past that it was "Lots of Love" Ha HA. Then somebody said "Lots Of Laughs" finally I am releaved.

You probably thought 'Wow, this lot is a really friendly bunch'.
You can also add 'Laugh Out Loud' into the mix. Even now I am asking my children what certain abbreviations mean.
TTFN

That was my first indication and now I am a little more relaxed.

Your comment about feeling guilty when hitting the delete button resonates. It’s becoming a daily decision to be made - what to read and what to regretfully delete unread.
However I need to focus on time for my business and do my best to support those who also support me.

Cheers
Dave

It has to be done, there's no way round it. I will get to them eventually.
Maybe this is where choosing a catchy title comes into its own.

The no excuses is a great idea, we can all find a excuse for not doing something

I have a routine in a way, I need to plan a little better

In saying that before WE I never had a plan or routine, every day I would just fly by the seat of my pant so to speak

Being more structured is the best way for me now, as it also helps to know where you are really at in your day, week, month ECT

Best thing of all enjoy your day and ,make it work for you

Ross

Totally agree Ross, even if it has taken a while to get back to you. Need to fine tune things a bit.
Might as well throw in the towel if we're not enjoying things, otherwise it just becomes another job.
Have an outstanding weekend sir.

Have a awesome weekend yourself

Yeah but at least we can say it was one heck of a blast! Nothing done by halves at Twack's...lols There is certainly and most definitely not enough time in the day. Will back any motion to extend! The lack of a lap top has allowed some respite from main schedule and has allowed some greater interaction now dreading new ones arrival as have a mountain to climb....Ah well needs must;
R.

On the whole, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and apart from a couple of calls on the 'Big white telephone' most were being responsible.
I bought a second hand laptop back in October of last year and I have used it once (When the lounge was overrun with offspring's friends) They just don't do it for me.
'Ain't no mountain high enough'

Wish I had yours to tide me over...lols...thank you for the sympathy and encouragement friend;
R.

Always welcome.
