5 Years Old - Happy WA Birthday to Me!

5-Year Old Post

On this day every year I make all effort to publish a WA post - even if I don't do so throughout the year. And it's because it's my WA Anniversary. I joined WA on August 2, 2018, so I'm 5 years old here today.

In my August 2 posts, I usually recount my journey online and consider the prospects for the coming year. This second point has led me to forseeing every incoming year.

The year just ended was expected to be the year of more harvest.

How the gone year was

And so was it! I harvested more than last year, and more than any other year before that.

So since I joined WA, every year has been better than the one(s) before it. And last year was no exception. In fact, the income I received from my online business in the gone year exceeded all incomes received before then put together. They were mostly from the usual sources:

- Google AdSense: My niche website has become an authority site, and is making me to get paid AdSense revenu three times a year as opposed to one time in the past.

- YouTube Partnership Program: My YouTube videos provide income on a daily basis. Although still relative low, they add up and cross the threshold every month, allowing me to get paid on a monthly basis - a goal I had hoped to reach a year ago.

New Achievement

Another success I must mention is the establishment of a kind of consultancy business in my niche.

In earlier posts I explained how I came online with the intent to create a business that I was already doing offline; and how I later found out that it wouldn't work online in its original form.

Well, I managed to do what was necessary in the gone year, and the 5-year old business plan finally took off.

So nowadays, it's not just AdSense and YouTube ad revenu, it's also and perhaps more importantly income from what I created myself. Though it's not bringing in thousands yet, having the first few clients since its creation less than 3 months ago is already a milestone.

And I expect it to even do better in this new year.

What it takes

All that did not happen without effort or challenges. You must make sacrifices for these things to happen. And even at that, you may not achieve all your goals at once.

If I were to provide advice to anyone - especially new WA members, my advice would be in two folds:

- It doesn't happen overnight: you have to remain in it to get results. The longer you stay in it, the more you learn, the more possiblities you discover;

- it doesn't happen easily. There is no 3-hour work week online. You have to put in the time and work hard to earn income online consistently. And the more income streams you seek to have, the more time it's going to consume, the more work you will have to do.

In short

Succeeding online is like succeeding in marriage. Initially, you may not be aware of the challenges that exist in it, but if you're committed to making it work, it will work in the end - as it is now working for me.
