I've just been advised that getting comments could be detrimental to my website.
I was personally trying to post at least 5 comments a day and was hoping for three or four back.
Why's it detrimental?
Apparently it's all to do with Google analytics. The person who sent me the notice will remain unnamed, but he seems to know what he's talking about.
I asked a few questions and asked him if they were good ideas. He basically said they were so, I have posted them below to help everyone out.
1. When you visit a person's someone's website, open up several pages at once, not just one.
2. Leave those pages open for several minutes.
3. You don't have to look at those pages
4. Comment on one page if you like.
This way it fools Google analytics into thinking the person's site who you are visiting is getting a lot more traffic.
By searching other people's websites, and going to more than one page, you are improving their Google analytics.
I do hope that if people take notice of this blog that they will also do the same in return.
I hope that I have got all this advice correct and if anyone knows anything different, please feel free to put me right.

Well, yes, this makes sense, because Analytics counts the time people are on your website, and when you have several pages open at the same time, it adds up.
Thanks for the info, I will do so in future.
So when asking comments we should tell people about that!

Come on guys I need more comments on this blog to keep it going and find out the down and dirty facts about their what I have written is correct or not. We need someone with a great deal of knowledge about how Google analytics work and whether what I have advised people to do is a good thing or not.
I would tell u this though, as soon as you go off a page on to another it counts as a "quit" page the all knowing google freakin knows unfortunately lol
So it makes no difference if u have 2 or several open when you leave that page it stops "counting" it
So, what I am understanding from what you just said is, I can't go to a person's page, open it up, go to someone else's page and so on, because as soon as I leave that first page it's a "quit" even though it is still open in my web browser?
So, what you're saying is you have to open up one page and stay on it for at least two minutes for Google analytics to recognise it and not use it as a "bounce," which is not good for their analytics?
What happens if I open up five different pages of five different websites that I'm doing research on and keep flitting between each one and only spending a matter of seconds on each one?
These are all questions that I had hoped someone within here or several people within here would be able to answer.
that would count as a bounce BUT BOUNCERATE DOESNT MATTER a great deal anyway. Think about it. Google wants the best for the reader right. Well if they have a question and land on your site and you answer that question in your post they most probably will not want to go any deeper into ur site hence BOUNCE RATE is somewhat irrelevant
Great tip Trevor, funnily enough when i go to someones site, I always take a bit of a look around to get a few pointers. So I'll just keep up the being nosey part.
let's see if someone comes back and confirms this or if it can be argued against before too much more is said / reported.
I do not know the answer but would be interested to find out because this would affect nearly every site that has ever been publsihed.
