So ... The last sub-menu under YOAST is called "Tools"...

As I said, YOAST comes with some very useful and powerful built-in tools.

Let's take a closer look at each one ...

If you click the "Import and Export" link, you'll be taken to a page with three tabs, which will allow you to export or import your current YOAST settings (to use them on/from other sites without completing again the whole configuration process), and more importantly, to import your SEO settings from other SEO plugins (in case that you already have a configured SEO plugin in place and you are switching to YOAST):

Next, the "File editor" tool. After clicking the link, you'll be taken to an editor window that will allow you to to quickly and easily edit your robots.txt and .htaccess files without annoying FTP solutions involved ...

Next, the "Bulk editor" tool. Which will allow you to quickly change the titles and the descriptions of your posts and pages without having to access the actual editor for each page:

Finally, there is a "Text link counter" tool ... which is self explanatory ...

And that's it! Congrats! You've successfully configured your YOAST plugin!

OK. Now let's see some real action ...

Hi,
Loved your very informative lesson.
My question is do you need to deactivate the all in one SEO first before you install YOAST or does YOAST just overtake the all in one SEO?
Thanks Sue

You'll use YOAST instead of AIO SEO, so yes, you'll have to delete it ... But, if you don't want to configure YOAST and your already published content manually, you might want to import the AIO SEO settings into YOAST before you remove it.

Very informative tutorial. I haven't used YOAST but the features you have highlighted show it to be very user friendly and configurable to give excellent results. Definitely something I will take a closer look at. Thank you for posting.

So Zed, when you upload Yoast, what happens to the one that we already have? Does it just magically disappear? And how much does the premium version of Yoast cost?

I don't understand Teri ... What should disappear?

YOAST Premium is €79 for one site.
