Now that you're ready to start pinning, you're probably wondering what to pin.

1. Your own blog posts - Be sure that you are using the correct size of Pinterest image inside your blog posts and that you have social sharing buttons so that your posts can be shared to Pinterest (and other social networks of course).

Again, this training is not meant to be a technical how-to, so I'm not going to go into what the correct size of images is. You can easily research that on your own. If you use a free tool like Canva.com, there are Pinterest image templates in there that you can use to make some great looking images. Start with those. Also, for your own blog post content, it's helpful to make more than one image...maybe 2 or 3 that all look a bit different. Why? Because you can then pin that post to multiple boards without it lookinglike you pinned the
same post everywhere.

2. Other people's content - Be sure and pin other people's content as well. You can do this directly from their blog posts or you can re-pin from within Pinterest.

Remember to put keywords in the pin descriptions.

Also, use #HASHTAGS in the pin description. I recommend using at least 4 hashtags per Pin but probably not more than about 8.

Why 4? Because Pinterest is showing 4 hashtags instead of a Pin description under the Pin previews in streams and on boards. Why no more than 8? Don't want it to look spammy.

Look at this example of a search I did with hashtag #christmasnails
(Sorry guys, I know it's a girlie example LOL)

Notice how you can see the #HASHTAGS shown.

Also, be sure to place your #HASHTAGS at the end of your description, not at the beginning. Why? Because your Pinners will be drawn through your content to the end that way. If you put your #HASHTAGS at the beginning of the description, they may not read the description.

TIP: Pinterest is a visual tool, and it is full of fabulous looking Pinterest images. Look around there and see what is being used for images. You can get alot of ideas and then create your own in Canva.com.
