First time logging in/signing up

To show you around Quora, I've created a dummy account so that I can help you navigate Quora for the first time. Once you've logged in or registered for the first time, you'll see something like this:

Once you've chosen your 10 interests, you click on 'continue' as so:

You will then be redirected to a page looking like this:

All you have to do here is type in stuff you already know about. So let's just say we're pretty knowledgable about Affiliate Marketing:

That's all I'm going to put in for my dummy account. Next, we click 'continue'. You might see some quirky stats before you finally get to dive into this massive traffic resource:

Now, you can choose to find your Facebook friends but my poor dummy account has no friends on Facebook so we're just going to continue. Once you've continued, you'll be directed to the main Quora hub which looks like this:

And that's that! You've successfully signed up with Quora. Congratulations! You're on your way to generating some sweet, sweet traffic and what happens when we get more traffic?

Revenue. We get more potential revenue.

Now. On to the next part.

Wow Rhys, Thank YOU for this. Have now started my own account following your instructions one at a time.

Questions: You suggest the following ...
"The best questions to answer are those with 1000+ views and that is less than 3 months old. Those are the questions you need to search for on Quora."

1.) If the question was answered over 3 months ago, why would anyone be interested in MY response to the question now?

2.) How do I go about finding those older questions?

3.) Are we allowed to use a YouTube hosted video as our answer to a question? Sometimes showing is sooo much easier than trying to explain.

Guess I need a little practice in order to master this. However, this site looks to be "right up my alley" as I really DO enjoy offer help to others.

Hey Triblu,

Very good questions. I'll answer them one by one:

1)

The thing I've discovered about 3 months old questions WITH lots of views is that it's currently very popular. Sort of like a 'trending' question.

I'm not sure of the process exactly but every time I answer such questions, I end up with at least 100 views the next day.

I can only assume that since the question has so many views, despite it's age, it's a question that a lot of people are keeping their eyes on which, in my experience, is why they're the best ones to answer.

2)

A lot of the time you'll find them in the 'related questions' part of Quora.

Alternatively, if you go to the "Answer" part of Quora and take a look under the "Suggested Questions", there's usually a few of them there.

There are hundreds of questions on Quora and even more being asked all the time. I've never had trouble finding questions related to my niche there.

3)

ABSOLUTELY you can. All you have to do is add the Youtube URL when you want to add a link and it'll automatically embed your video.

I think videos are an excellent way of answering. To the asker, it's a lot easier since they don't need to do all the reading.

I hope I've answered your questions sufficiently. Happy answering! :)
