Make your way to the top of the answer board

What do I mean by this? Well take a look at this:

You see me there? Yes that's right. I'm the SECOND most viewed answerer on Quora for the subject I'm an expert in.

I'm second only to the guy in first because he graduated from highschool in 2015 and has had about a year and a half's head start on me.

This is where you should be aiming for. The top 10. To do this you're going to have to answer tons of questions BUT.

Not just ANY questions and I'm going to show you why.

BEFORE we get into that though, there's something else we need to do.

Edit your credentials so that your site is advertised

What do I mean by this then? Welp have a look for yourself:

When you click on your name and select "Profile" in the drop down menu in the top right, you'll be directed to a place like this:

TAKE NOTE. My website is IN THE CREDENTIAL that shows up whenever I answer a question.

"Gives IB advice @ ibadvizer.com"

Very sly, below-the-line promotion technique but you get where I'm going here.

Now if you hover your mouse next to your credential, you will see an 'Edit' option like so:

This is where you need to add a credential for yourself. Alternatively, you could go to the "Credentials and Highlights" part of your profile and click "Edit" which will take you to a page like so:

Once you've clicked "Edit", you'll see a pop-out like this:

This is where you need to add a credential. Make sure to add one and include your website AND make sure to select it as your default one.

I'd just like to warn you that sometimes selecting 'default' might not work and you'll have to change it manually when answering questions. I'll show you how to do that in the next step.

Be aware that there is a word limit that can't be surpassed. This is why I added the '@' in my credential because I had no space. I would advise you to add it as well to your credential because it's a lot more visual then adding "at".

"@" vs. "at"

Which one do you think will capture more attention? Exactly.

Alrighty then. Once you've got the credentials in place and have solidified yourself as somewhat of an expert in your field, it's time to move on to the next part!

Wow Rhys, Thank YOU for this. Have now started my own account following your instructions one at a time.

Questions: You suggest the following ...
"The best questions to answer are those with 1000+ views and that is less than 3 months old. Those are the questions you need to search for on Quora."

1.) If the question was answered over 3 months ago, why would anyone be interested in MY response to the question now?

2.) How do I go about finding those older questions?

3.) Are we allowed to use a YouTube hosted video as our answer to a question? Sometimes showing is sooo much easier than trying to explain.

Guess I need a little practice in order to master this. However, this site looks to be "right up my alley" as I really DO enjoy offer help to others.

Hey Triblu,

Very good questions. I'll answer them one by one:

1)

The thing I've discovered about 3 months old questions WITH lots of views is that it's currently very popular. Sort of like a 'trending' question.

I'm not sure of the process exactly but every time I answer such questions, I end up with at least 100 views the next day.

I can only assume that since the question has so many views, despite it's age, it's a question that a lot of people are keeping their eyes on which, in my experience, is why they're the best ones to answer.

2)

A lot of the time you'll find them in the 'related questions' part of Quora.

Alternatively, if you go to the "Answer" part of Quora and take a look under the "Suggested Questions", there's usually a few of them there.

There are hundreds of questions on Quora and even more being asked all the time. I've never had trouble finding questions related to my niche there.

3)

ABSOLUTELY you can. All you have to do is add the Youtube URL when you want to add a link and it'll automatically embed your video.

I think videos are an excellent way of answering. To the asker, it's a lot easier since they don't need to do all the reading.

I hope I've answered your questions sufficiently. Happy answering! :)
