Choose the questions more likely to bring in more traffic

I'm not trying to sound elitist when I say that. I'm merely stating that there are some questions that are more popular and seen by more people. Take this question for example:

This was a question I answered a while back. If we were to take a look at the stats of this particular question, we'd be looking at the bottom right of the screen. Take a look:

You see, this is a good question. It wasn't asked too long ago and it's got 20000+ views. This is definitely a good question to answer.

Now let's take a look at another question:

Now you see, this one is less likely to be such a good question to answer. Check it out:

Let me clarify. You can answer this question. By all means. However, keep in mind that this is a 5 year old question, at least at the time of me writing this training. It's got some decent views but keep in mind this question has been around for a while.

The best questions to answer are those with 1000+ views and that is less than 3 months old. Those are the questions you need to search for on Quora.

Not to say that you shouldn't answer other questions. You certainly can. In the long run, it will definitely add to exposing your website more.

However that would be a long term strategy. If you're looking to really give your website some of the spotlight look for relatively new questions with high views.

Welp. That's the end of this training. I hope you've enjoyed and have learned a few things. I would rank Quora up there with Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus.

Keep in mind that you can actually share your answers on Facebook and Twitter. I would recommend you do so when first starting out.

To recap. To effectively use Quora you need to know the following:

  • Make sure your answers are lengthy, detailed, and well organized. Make sure all paragraphs are at a maximum of 3 lines.
  • Include lists, both bulleted and numbered, responses where possible. Also include sub-headings.
  • Answer the right type of questions. It's perfectly fine to go for older questions but at least make sure such questions have at least 1000+ views or else it's not a good question to answer for your website.
  • The best questions are the ones with high views and are relatively new (3 months or younger).
  • Remember to include your website in your credentials and descriptions on your profile.
  • Aim to become one of the top 10 Quora answerers in your area of expertise. People will trust you more and visit your site as a result.

Last but not least, answer as many questions as you can. The more you answer in your area, the more people will start to notice your name and site.

If you keep popping up as a regular answerer then people will no doubt be more curious about you and visit your site.

Thanks for getting this far! I hope this was educational and if you're off to make a Quora account now then I wish you the best of luck in your search for more traffic :)

Wow Rhys, Thank YOU for this. Have now started my own account following your instructions one at a time.

Questions: You suggest the following ...
"The best questions to answer are those with 1000+ views and that is less than 3 months old. Those are the questions you need to search for on Quora."

1.) If the question was answered over 3 months ago, why would anyone be interested in MY response to the question now?

2.) How do I go about finding those older questions?

3.) Are we allowed to use a YouTube hosted video as our answer to a question? Sometimes showing is sooo much easier than trying to explain.

Guess I need a little practice in order to master this. However, this site looks to be "right up my alley" as I really DO enjoy offer help to others.

Hey Triblu,

Very good questions. I'll answer them one by one:

1)

The thing I've discovered about 3 months old questions WITH lots of views is that it's currently very popular. Sort of like a 'trending' question.

I'm not sure of the process exactly but every time I answer such questions, I end up with at least 100 views the next day.

I can only assume that since the question has so many views, despite it's age, it's a question that a lot of people are keeping their eyes on which, in my experience, is why they're the best ones to answer.

2)

A lot of the time you'll find them in the 'related questions' part of Quora.

Alternatively, if you go to the "Answer" part of Quora and take a look under the "Suggested Questions", there's usually a few of them there.

There are hundreds of questions on Quora and even more being asked all the time. I've never had trouble finding questions related to my niche there.

3)

ABSOLUTELY you can. All you have to do is add the Youtube URL when you want to add a link and it'll automatically embed your video.

I think videos are an excellent way of answering. To the asker, it's a lot easier since they don't need to do all the reading.

I hope I've answered your questions sufficiently. Happy answering! :)
