DON'Ts
Correct information - Ensure that the information you provide above the fold is what you cover through the rest of your article or page. Don't mislead your readers. Do what you say you're going to do.
Don't overload a page or post with too much information. Use brief paragraphs and give your readers time to pause. Think about how old newspapers were written in a way to give readers a break. Also, more paragraphs versus long ones are easier on the eyes.
Don't place advertisements above the fold where your crucial content should be! (Yea, it bears repeating!)
BE MOBILE RESPONSIVE
DOs
Be sure your web design elements are easily viewable with mobile devices and don't need a lot of panning, zooming and pinching to read.
Have easy to use "thumb" clickable tabs for mobile users
DON'T
Have non-friendly mobile apps on your pages that inhibit mobile users like Adobe Flash Animations
