DON'Ts
Don't provide a link to every single page of your website from your homepage. This will overload your homepage with too many links and slow down your initial page load speeds. If your page load speed is about 6-8 seconds, this will increase your bounce rate and hurt SEO and your ranking in the search engine results pages.
Instead use anchor links within your text to lead visitors to other pages. For example, Link Page 1 to page 2. Then, link Page 2 to Page 3. (instead of having all three links on the home page)
Don't over-cram your drop-down menus with pages that hinder user experience.
Don't create pages that can't be reached via user's navigation through your website. Link pages into and out of each other.
