Measurable

The second criterion stresses the need for a way to know when an objective has been accomplished. Checking off completed task is very motivational. An objective that can be accomplished in a week is good. An objective that will take a month should probably be broken up into ojectives that can be accomplish in a shorter time.

Indicators should be quantifiable. A measurable goal will usually answer questions such as:

  1. How much?
  2. How many?
  3. How will I know when it is accomplished?

You have done a great job here Bill. You have taken what is often used in one post and broken it into 9 digestible modules. MBO is supplemented by updated leadership and management ideas and by Steven Covey's 7 Habits. Great post.
