8. Use Hashtags

Recent research suggests that tweets that include Hashtags are 33% more likely to get retweeted. A single hashtag post has 69% more chances of getting retweeted than a post with multiple Hashtags.

Although you should take these stats with a grain of salt, it is safe to say you should use hashtags in your tweets.

Do not create your own Hashtags if you plan to use them in your tweet. Twitter users can easily categorize and filter tweets using Hashtags. Don't just make dumb stuff!

Instead, spend some time to find out which hashtags are trending. You can increase the visibility of your tweets by using these Hashtags.

To find trending Hashtags, you can use hashtag analytics services like Hashtags.org.

9. Allow Tweetables on Your Blog

These are pre-formatted quotes that you can use in your blog posts. You'll be able to get more replies and retweets when you use them than with standard sharing and tweeting.

There are many Twitter plugins and generators that will help you make some really amazing tweetable.

Twitter is one social media account that I avoid. I have one for my gardening account but I never really spent much time growing it like I have with Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit and Quora. Do you think It should start a new account with Twitter for my MMO site? Jim

I think that this is a serious question, Jim.

If you are getting all the traffic you want from the other ones you use then no, I don't think so if it will take you away from writing content every day. It really is a big-time investment to get results and you need to be sure that your target audience is on there and will visit your website.

Just my opinion.

I have better ideas now after reading this blog, Lily.
I loved No.6 and no. 10.
In terms of tweeting frequencies, which one you would recommend for beginners? MeetEdgar, Requeue, CoSchedule?
Twitters itself also has its own feature to schedule posts, isn't it?

CoSchedule is my pick, Joe.

Twitter is not popular in Singapore, and most Asia countries.

That said, I still do post on Twitter. Just to be there. In case it ever blows up.

Meantime, I just post, and rarely engage.
