In the above image you are looking at the Notifications area of my Twitter account. It is here that I get to see all those who have contacted me, liked my tweets, retweeted my tweets, added me to one of their niche/category lists, and have started following me. In light of Social Media Marketing (SMM) it is always best to interact with each person in some way.
You do not have to follow each person that has either done any of what is mentioned above but you should at least “Like” and/or “Retweet” one of their tweets. Social Media Marketing cannot work unless you are “social” with those who interact with you. You cannot just tweet your link, do nothing else, and expect good SMM results.
DIRECT MESSAGES
With the latest announced changes by Twitter that they are changing the character count in Direct Messages (DM) only, from 140 to 10,000, this gives you the marketer more space to market your website link to more of your followers. Now you have another way to market yourself instead of relying on just the tweeting. With DM you can put your message directly to your followers, as is seen by those who market to me in the image above.
I know for me personally, I will be using Direct Messages much more for marketing purposes, as soon as the character count changes in July. This change I foresee, will be a boon to those who use Twitter as their way of engaging in Social Media Marketing. Not only is Google now indexing Twitter tweets but I think that this new character count change in DM will lead to Google indexing it as well.
UPDATE, Even though the character count has now doubled to 280, as of November 7, 2017, the above training still applies.
NEXT UP = How to use your Twitter Account Profile
When I did the Google search for #workfromhome and links to your content came up in positions 6 and 7, I noticed that your picture was adjacent to those search results. I thought Google Authorship was gone though. How did you manage to include an Authorship picture?
Thanks!
Dennis
This training was a big help for me and, to be immortalized on page 5 of one of your trainings is also an honor!
Can't wait for your training of Facebook as, I have absolutely no idea what to do there which is odd because, according to my Google Analytics, I receive more traffic from there than any of my other social media but, It is the one I use the least
