Force reload your web browser. Make sure to let the page load completely before start editing.
- Windows: CTRL + F5
- Mac/Apple: Apple+R or command + R
- Linux: F5

After this process my visual editor started working. Yepeee. Now I can Sleep.
Oh it came back again.
If all this does not work for you final resort install the "CKEditor for wordpress" plugin. when I installed it, it was not tested on my version but had to take the risk, installed it and working fine and no problams so far.
Hope this will help others going through the same problem.

Nicely done. I've never had to go through all these steps. I've had this problem 3 times, but always emptying my cookies and caches, then a reboot solved the problem.
But I'm bookmarking this training, in case I have to go the extra mile(s) like you did, thanks a bunch!
